It's different for everyone. For the first time it'll probably take 3 or 4 days. After that (i.e. once you become fat adapted), it can take any where from half a day to 2 or 3 days.

this was my first time on keto and it only took me a day and a half.
i ate almost 0 carbs until i got in.

Wow I am kinda excited by this diet...all those foods i have tried to avoid for years...

I can eat now.

HIgh fat cheese

bacon cheeseburgers

cream cheese

heavy cream...mmmmwhat fun!! I can totally give up the sugar for this diet...I am a sugar addict but not really finding this very difficult at all

Also was just wondering? does anyone ever eat some berries with that heavy cream? on the keto diet? oh that would be heaven

i have been craving berries!
but the bag of frozen berries i have is full of carbs.
i need to find berries with no carbs (i dont know if that is possible).

for dessert i have like one of those jell-o cups with whipped cream on top (only 1 carb)

I dunno i have heard around here that berries are high in fiber and low glycemic index so not much sugary carbs ..so ? I dunno

yesterday i had a whole bowl for ..and this morning i saw signs of entering ketosis ..I lost 1.2 pounds in a day..

But yesterday i ate more protein than fat though.

Maybe i did i dunno

I had protein scoop with benefiber

eggwhites spinach and butter

another protein scoop ..this kind has no carbs or fat
berries

turkey with butter
salad with flax oil
tilapia with butter ..(drenched)
salad with flax oil

so now today i am getting really into it with more fat...


Today so far I had

Protein shake with flax oil


LIke 4 or 5 egg yolks and some eggwhites with butter ..Not sure how many i ate but i eat til full and save it...I seem to eat every hour on this diet, instead of 2 or 3

protein shake

Turkey with lots of cheddar cheese and spinach

tsp of cream cheese

And my superfood whole food supplement powder water and cream.

Now i am going to eat a bacon cheeseburger with some spinach..haha

and for dessert if still hungry i will have protein shake with cream or i might freeze it into ice cream.

I got into keto in one day.

My suggestion:

Eat a lot of fat whenever you're hungry.
Low protein and zero carbs.
Get a bike, go for a ride the rest of the night.
Tommorow you'll be in keto. :)

yea i have been in a really bad keto fog these last few days.
the bad says 1 cup is like 7 g carb and 4 g fiber (so 3 carb total).
so i am going to get that cup right now!

i get into keto by doing hiit and eatting >20 carbs in 1 day

After a carb up, the next day i have a fat fast, where i only have 2tbsp olive oil every 4 hours (so the next day is near 100% fat) gets me in the next day :)

Wow that is almost like doing a liver flush...LOL


But yay i am in ketosis..i just tested myself this morning and it is moderate 40mg it says...Do i have to be all the way in to the last color they show on the bottle? i am guessing no..but i would more than likely lose more fat if i was i suppose?

Oh it's where you eat fat free all day to build up bile, fast after 2 pm and then at night you drink a ton of olive oil mixed with grapefruit juice. Lay on your side for awhile and then go to sleep. It is supposed to purge liver and gallbladder stones that are built up from not eating enough fat. But no need at all for something like that if you are taking in olive oil or lecithin on a daily basis.

Now you said you drink olive oil all day long consecutively and nothing else. If everyone did that on a daily basis you cant get gallbladder stones. That's why I said that because you can flush your liver out from stagnant bile by doing your olive oil fast that you do. That's one of the nicest things I like about the keto diet.. So much fat you cant get stones.

Yeah i do my Fat fast every wed/sunday and every day i have bit of olive oil here and there to up my fats (i like it to be 67-70% of my cals) lol sometimes i'll even cut of a slice of butter and nibble on that.

So you dont get hungry just eating olive oil?
