ok so a few days ago i posted looking for advice on zercher squats, i did them today and they really smoked me but i liked them alot. My problem is that my arms are limiting how much i can hold. I topped out at 315 and did 5 sets of 5. My legs can move alot more weight ( i back squatted 5x5 @425 the other day). I'm looking for tips on how to hold more weight (besides the obvious which is getting stronger arms, I'm working on it), im thinking technique here. How wide do you guys space your elbows? what do you do with your hands etc.?

These are hell. The best advice I can give is growing pains. Overtime you adjust and the body just deals. I rest the bar below the bicep no where else to go with it. Have you seen the zercher bar? I have thought about getting this one myself.

Try using the squat pad...Thicker bar...towel....elbows spaced comfortably....I grip one hand with the other....Hope that helps..

What do you mean your arms are limiting how much you can hold? Strengthwise or painwise? Your arms shouldn't limit anything strength wise if the bar is right in your elbows. Painwise, just man up and it'll go away. I just started Zerchers too and they hurt like hell, but I can still work through it no probs.
