Front of the knee, right below the knee cap. Yes, it's only my left. Probably started feeling it a few months ago.
It's not so bad that it keeps me from squatting, I'm just concerned that it may worsen and turn into something bad. My squat form is great so I doubt that's the problem.
I was thinking maybe I should try a knee sleeve or something. What do you guys think?

take some time off from squating and any exercise that induces pain.. I suggest 4-6 weeks

Don't mess around with knee pain man... Those things don't go away if you aggravate it too much.
Stay off legs for a while... give it a week or two and try again... if the pain is still there I would head over to the clinic.

Not everyone is made to squat.
Rest the area, and if you must return to squatting, try RU4A69's advice: box squats.

I can almost promise you it is form related. I had the same thing. Stick your but out just a bit more to keep all your weight on the mid foot to heel, not the ball of your foot. Work on every rep. Its the one rep where you dont stick your butt out that will hurt your knees.

I play a lot of tennis, which is bad on the knees. I have the same thing. Its called Jumper's Knee or patella tendonitis.

Use ice, no heat. I bought a patella knee strap that works wonders. I got mine at the drug store. When doing excersises make sure the knee cap doesn't extend over the tip of your shoe. If it hurts you can take ibuprofen, as it is an anti-infammatory. As a preventative you can take a joint supplement w/ MSM, Glucosimine, chondrotin sulfate. Give it time and it will go away on its own.

Will it ever give out or hurt at any other time during the day when you are not lifting? I have recently had this issue and my doc just suggested new shoes. And won't you know, it's gone away. Might just be bad shoes!
The 1, 2, 3 check.
I'd start off by checking my shoes. Then when I got to the gym, I'd check my form. Grab a partner that knows squatting obviously to watch your form. Still troubles? I think the tennis guy is on to something.
p.s. do your knees come inwards/outwards as in a left to right movement when you go up or down. They should stay in line with your feet. IF they are coming inwards/outwards, do some inner/outer thigh machine to strengthen your ab/adductors. I found that my workout partner today was having this issue.
