Hey guys!
I finally decided to register so I figure I should tell you a bit about myself. I am a Varsity athlete and spent from September-March in season and semi bulking at the same time. At the end of the season I bulked like crazy (March and April). I have now been cutting since May 1st and getting ready for the season to start back up in September. For my cut I'm eating about 1800-2000 calories a day to maintain the muscles I worked so hard for for 8 months and I spend about 2 and a half hours in the gym a day, I work in a very high pace, labor intensive job. My gym routine is 4 days a week. 2 days is legs, 2 days is arms. On arm days I do a 40 minute plyo and core circuit and on leg days its a 40 minute core and stretching circuit. For cardio I do a half hour of HIIT 4 days a week. For this I do a 10 minute jog then 10 minutes of sprint for a minute walk for a minute, then another 10 minute jog and I play hockey for an hour on Wednesdays (its my first time playing hockey and I highly recommend it). Im liking my program a lot (even though I dont have a choice in the matter as its my required summer training program). My only dislike is stretching. Since my bulk, my stretching has been severely limited. I need to regain my flexibility by September but just dont seem to have the drive to follow through with it. So I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on maybe how to make stretching more fun/enjoyable, or ways to drastically improve my flexiblility in 2 and a half months. Thanks a lot for reading (if you actually made it through all of this) and I look forward to hearing and talking to you guys further.

I can't help you much, but what you say confuses me... I was always under an impression that bb-ers needed no special stretching programme as working your muscles through full ROM, which is a must in bb-ing (except in some intensity-increase techniques), already does a LOT to maintain and improve stretching capabilities. Coupled with 2-3 mins of stretching pre- and post- w/o, my own stretching capabilities skyrocketed... So to piggy-back you, I'd really love if somebody clarified the matter - DOES a bb-er need an extensive stretching routine, regardless?

Stretching is very important to prevent injuries..I used to never stretch and as a result, I'm very inflexible and started having hip problems from tight IT bands..

Have you thought of a yoga class? I've started one and love it..you could find a partner and that way you could chat while stretching..I try to do it while I'm watching a tv show, so I get around 20-30 min
