Anybody do them? Basically start from a wide-grip hanging position, slowly raise your knees all the way up, then pull with your arms to raise your knees above your shoulder level. Lower back down slowly, repeat.
I was able to complete 3 sets of 5-6 and my shoulders and abs are sore as hell today.. Seems like a great core exercise.

it kind of puts too much strain on my shoulders when I try it.
Oddly I can use the padded arm straps to hang from and my shoulders are less core.

I tried those last week. Got to 6 and had to quit. Felt like my shoulders were coming apart. I did feel it in the abs too though. I have to keep working on shoulder strength so I can do more of these. I doubt I could have done one 3 months ago.

So does it kinda tip you forward so you are doing behind-the-neck pullups?

If you like those, you should try slowly rolling into an inverted handstand, then doing a pull up inverted. I even enjoy doing inverted pull ups while in splits(the added weight of out stretched legs works great). That's a fav of mine. I'm the oddball that enjoys doing all my exercises inverted... or as close to all of them as I can.
I do no core exercises whatsoever in addition to my little play time on my chin up bar or even on a vertical pole.
Good stuff.

-Just the opposite. You are rolling your knees up in front of your chest/head, which makes you roll backwards. Rolling forward would 1) seem to be extremely difficult, and 2) extremely dangerous/painful :-)
Not sure about the "slowly rolling into an inverted handstand, then doing a pull up inverted" comment. Hanging 6' off the ground on a cable machine pull up bar it would seem to be difficult to get into a handstand position? 'Don't think I'll be trying that one...
