I just graduated with my MBA and would love to find a way to incorporate my love for fitness with it. I have no clue what opportunities are possible with this combination. Any ideas??
I've thought about PT on the side but I have no clue what would be the best certification to get...
Thanks for any ideas!! I'm about to jump into the "real world" and would love to get into a job that I really enjoy and I know that most anything in the fitness industry would be amazing!!!

I only know of one person in the fitness industry with an MBA, and his career is pretty amazing - John Spencer Ellis - here's his site:

Enter any one of the industries he's in and you'll find a lot of opportunities -

I think PT would be very cool for you, but with an MBA I know you could definitely aim higher than just being a PT (not that it's not a great job, or very rewarding, but you have a distinct business advantage over most PT's).
I know as I am searching for a career in marketing one of my struggles has been that my degrees and graduate work were in non-business related fields... having an MBA, it appears, is like having a magical key to all things...
Have you ever thought about doing some sort of entrepreneural thing? Like maybe starting a "mom and pop" supplement shop that epitomizes everything you think a shop should be, or perhaps going into a corporate fitness industry (such as working for nautilus or metrx or some major fitness/supplement company)? With your knowledge of how the products apply in the field (from personal workout experience) combined with your degree, I would think you'd probably be able to land in a fairly good position first off and work your way up very quickly!

I'm an MBA with a few fitness certifications. I will often consult with other trainers. Additionally, I'm shopping for a private studio because I've got many years of business and fitness experience, feel like I've got a good foot in both worlds. I personally think it is an excellent combination and strongly encourage it.
