sorry for gloating, I was a little worried walking out of there. It only took me a little over 2 hours even after looking over it twice.

Anyways, I feel like a lot of weight was lifted off of my shoulders, and my 300 some odd dollars went to good use lol.

You're going for the CSCS? So am I. I'm ordering my study materials this Friday. I don't have the NSCA CPT certificate, though. Good job.

That's what I'm doing right now. Going for my undergrad in Exercise Science hoping to get into the PT program. I'm just doing personal training very part-time at the moment to get more experience working with people. The best thing I like about personal training is that the hours are very flexible and that accommodates my school schedule very well.

However, don't expect to get a lot of clients if your hours of availability isn't convenient for them.

so it only took like 2 weeks to get the results back? I was thinking it took like 5-6 weeks, lol

I just did the exact same thing! And am also going to eventually be cscs but much later than you. Good job man I think its the best cert one can get without their degree yet

It used to be 6 weeks but nsca changed their system within the last few years. Mine was a week and 1 day and that was just so they could process my cpr certification

Yeah I kinda figured that. My target clients are going to be students, professors, and possibly some elderly, so obviously the students and professors will have somewhat similar schedules as I do. We'll see how it goes, I'm sure it will be lots of trial and error.

Yeah man!! It says 4-6 weeks but hell I didn't mind. Those practice exams did a lot for me as far as feeling comfortable seeing the exam format and content, I'm sure they will do the same for you whenever you decide to take the exam.

Good Idea, it seems that this forum is either "veteran" trainers, or 16-20 year olds REPEATEDLY asking "how do i become a PT" or "which cert is the best". So quite frankly I'm not sure how much good it will do to make a thread with tips and what not. I'll put a note in my sig to have ppl PM me if they have questions.

GJDM. good luck with that! I thought 4-6 weeks was a little ridiculous to get scores back on a multiple choice, computer scanned score sheet. In school we sometimes get our scores back in a matter of hours, so I wasn't too excited about waiting at least a month to see if I had just wasted 300+ dollars lol.

git'r done!

does anyone else have thoughts on training in the school gym? do you think I would get in trouble if I trained, say 1-2 clients a day in the school owned/operated gym? I've never seen anyone do it before, and the people working the desk I'm either really cool with or they are completely fukcing clueless. So what do you think?
