for the last couple of months I felt some weird pain and movements in my neck muscles whenever I lift ,until I pulled this muscle and I havent been lifting for a month and I am on meds now to treat this muscle.

How could I prevent this again ?? Now I have the same feeling in my calves and I had a slight pull in them while I was playing soccer ,I lied on the ground and I stretched my calves...any advice??

Another question ,what can I do to treat my neck other than these meds and topical gel??

Stretch properly, and dont overtrain which is notorious for muscle injury and pulls.

don't overtrain is part of the solution the other parts are...stimulate (stretch, massage, jog, range of motion exercises) areas of stiffness, pain, aches, soreness...followed by ice or an ice message...the goal is to relieve (move out) the tension/inflamation built up in ur muscles...which when built up too much creates pressure on nerves...thus creating pinched nerves...
