i bought this big fat bag of oats a while ago when i first tried oatmeal. unfortunately, i find oatmeal disgusting and have plenty of more appealing breakfast options

Those of you who have trouble with oats. Have you tried raw oats? I always make my husband's oats raw. Just soak 40g (half cup) quick oats in 2.5 to 3 oz of apple juice until the juice is absorbed. Or if you don't like apple juice, try yogurt.

Sprinkle them on yoghurt and berries, mix them with stewed apples for 'apple crumble', use them in healthy baking....

Tuna Patties
Squish together:
1 can tuna (drained)
1 egg
1/2 cup oats
Mix in 1/2 cup veggies if desired (add another 1/8 - 1/4 cup egg whites to help hold together if you do that). Mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, lima beans and corn), onions and bell peppers or onions and pico de gallo and spinach are all good combos.
Scoop mixture into a pan coated with olive oil. Use spatula to shape into a patty. Cook over medium for about 5 minutes, flip, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle seasoning of choice (Mrs. Dash is good--I like to put this on the "raw" side and it gets kinda toasted when you flip it over).

I use it in the protein shakes. It makes it have a better texture I think. You can also use it to make protein pancakes.
4 egg whites
1/4 c oatmeal
1 scoop vanilla protein
1/2 a banana mashed up
you can add a little cinnamon and or stivia
1tsp wheat flour add until texture looks like normal batter
make on skillet like normal pancakes

Agreed. I use the Cinnamon flavor from Prolab most often - it's a great combination. I can't wait until offseason so I can do it again!! :(

I absolutely love and look foward to eating oats every morning !!!
What I do with mine is mix them with 4 tbs of hemp hearts (which are a great source of essential healthy fats and have a very yummy taste - kinda like cashews), sometimes I add flax seed as well, and a scoop of my favorite protein powder. I add a tiny bit of water and mix it all together and it is so so so yummy. Sometimes throw it in the microwave for 10-20 seconds to make it warm. Delicious either way !

Why no powder? Unless you have serious problems with satiety, there is nothing wrong with the faster gastric emptying.

Prolab's Cinnamon Oatmeal protein powder is sooooooooooooooooo good. The best I have ever had. Like eating a cinnamon cookie or treat or something. Too bad it is so expensive!

I've been curious about that flavor...I've never tried any of prolab's proteins, though. So...I guess just curious about prolab's protein in general, especially after dvsness ranked it above Beverly in taste in another thread (I LOOOVE Beverly chocolate!)!

I make "French Toast in a Bowl"
3/4 cup egg beaters
1/2 cup oats
splash of vanilla extract
splash of maple extract
dash of splenda to taste
You can add cinnamon to it as well for flavor. I adjust the ratio of egg beaters to oats as needed to fit my macros.
I love the yogurt and oats, especially with a spoon of honey.

Flaxmeal is also a good replacement for oil or butter:
Flax Information Sheet:
Flaxseed Meal in Recipes-
You can use Bob?s Red Mill flaxseed meal as a stand in for some or all of the oil or shortening called for in a recipe. Cooks recommend a 3:1 substitution ratio. For example, 3 tbsp. Of flaxseed meal added to a recipe can replace 1 tbsp of the butter, margarine or cooking oil. When flaxseed meal is used instead of oil, baked goods tend to brown more rapidly.
Vegetarian Baking-
Bob?s Red Mill Flaxseed meal mixed with water can replace an egg in selected recipes like pancakes, muffins and cookies. These baked goods are gummier and chewier than usual, and the volume is decreased. When using replacement formula, test a recipe first to determine if it meets your expectations.
Egg Replacement Formula-
1 tbsp Bob?s Red Mill flaxseed meal + 3 tbsp water = 1 egg
Mix Bob?s Red Mill flaxseed meal and water in a small bowl and let sit for one to two minutes. Add to a recipe as you would an egg.
A 3-1/2 ounce serving of flaxseed provides 21g of protein, which is similar to that of soybean. While flaxseed is rich in protein, research suggests the health benefits of this seed probably have more to do with its fat and fiber profile.
