Going for it.

Been on for about a week now but am going to cheat just a little tonight.

Weighed 219 when I started on May 12th.

Weigh 215 now (May 16th).

Been a TOUGH week I must admit but we will get through this like it or not!

Starting a log... you should probably list your goals, workout routine, daily macros etc... like a profile.

Ok...thanks for the advice.

Starting to weigh myself in the mornings. So my weight will appear to be a lot lower than the original post.

Current weight: 209

Goal: 185-190 by August 1st.

That is 20 pounds in 2 and a half months basically.

Weight train 3-4 days per week.

Cardio 3-4 nights running per week.

May 20, 2008 - Tuesday

Mood: Low energy and depressed.


Snacks at 9:00AM - Spicy Slim Jim, few sunflower seeds.

Meal 1 (11:00AM) Rosies steak fajitas. Got double rice only because I hate beans but hardly ate any rice. Maybe 2 or 3 forks of it. The fajitas were bad I know but was crashing pretty hard and had to do something. Felt sick to my stomach in the middle of eating but got better. Body didn't like the carbs I don't think.

I know I should eat something better for me before 11.

Weights? No

Cardio? Yes

Random thoughts - Am I too old for this? Is it worth giving up noodles, rice, pizza just to lose 20 pounds? I feel like crap after a few days without these foods. Why? Do I *need* these foods? When I'm away from these foods and eat them, I feel like crap too. Do I really care that much about a 32 inch waist again?

Feeling a little better now but know it is because I had a slight carb injection. I need to show better self control and resist that temptation harder next time. Need to get through the foggy point to where I need to be. Stomach still not feeling great but getting better.

Self Doubt is tough to overcome.. But at least give it a few weeks so that your body will adjust to working that way. It could be a lifestyle change for you.. as opposed to just another three weeks of eating noodles and rice daily.

I still eat my carbs on my carb ups.. I dont really crave anything unless on a huge caloric deficit... :)

Give it a real try! Just don't let your carb up turn into a carb week.. (if you choose to do a program with carb ups)

Thanks for the advice.

I ate that meal today and thought for a split second that I'm ruining what I've worked for. I've been on this for a week (with a small Alfonzos pizza carb up) and I know it is not that long but it is SOMETHING. So when I got the meal put in front of me I told myself I would not eat the rice and no chips either. At least don't blow it completely. This was not an official carb up day so I should not have gotten that meal. But I hear what you are saying it really is a lifestyle change. I just resolved myself to the fact that I stumbled and now need to stand up straight again. I don't like how eating carbs made me feel. Really did get sick to my stomach for a while.

I punished myself yesterday I only ate the 1 meal. I know I need more calories but I couldn't get past the fact that I cheated.

So I will eat something early this morning because I have the jitters and a completely empty stomach.

Heated up a quick cook Tyson chicken meal. It is REALLY good. It is white breast chicken medallions in a creme sauce. Only has 2 grams of net carbs and 3 servings.

Look for it in the refrigerated foods section it's killer.

They show it with chicken on top of noodles, but you don't have to cook noodles with it they are not included either.

EDIT: Oh yeah, 19 grams of protein per serving. The carbs I'm guessing are in the sauce so if you don't lick the bowl you should be good to go on strict Keto!!!

Getting down there. :)

I like to punish myself, when I feel guilty, by doing a lot more work than I usually do.. So I'll do extra sets and reps, more cardio, a second cardio session. I find this to be more effect for me because I'm still hitting my basal metabolic rate in terms of calories and hopefully my metabolism isn't hitting a brick wall.

Keep it going!

I hear you Perk!

Hit the gym hard. Ran out of gas around 50 mins in but still do not want to do a TKD type of deal. No carbs for the most part until a simple carb up meal. I take a Leviathon before the gym and Recreates throughout the day.

Gonna run tonight.

Gotta keep rollin!

May 22, 2008 - Thursday

Mood: Tired but upbeat.

Weight: 206

Last night I went to bed too late and cheated. I ate a small slice of pizza, the insides of a philly steak hot pocket, and a couple of toquitos. Time to pay the fiddler. Punishment as commenced. I still weighed in at 206 so I think the lack of calories and general carbs during the day yesterday helped for that not to cave keto in completely.

Meal 1 will be at 10AM. Tyson quick cook turkey meal.

Weights? Yes

Cardio? Yes

One additional note is that I was STRONGER in the gym yesterday even though I had basically no carbs (until cheating last night). I was tired but stronger. I have lost maybe 7 pounds since starting so I would expect strength to go down. Strange.

Wasn't very filling but will deal with it. Punishing myself today.

Hit the gym and ran out of gas pretty quick. Still did the workout.

Did not cheat at all last night! Ate 2 beef patties and drank water.

But woke up a pound heavier. 207. Weight fluctuations on this diet are puzzling but in the end if you drop the weight it doesn't matter.

Meal 1 today is going to be at 11AM. Salsbury steak. It has a lot of sodium though. These Tyson meals have a ton of sodium so I think I'm holding water. Need to not eat as many. One or two a week shouldn't be bad, but not every day.

Going to try and hit the gym at 1:30. Legs and shoulders. Third day in a row making it to the gym.

May 23: Did good stayed on Keto. Weighed 205 this morning. Lowest weight to date.

May 24: Carb Up...Ate Alfonzos at noon...Ate mexican at night.

May 25: Ate hamburger and hotdog for the most part.

May 26: Back on keto. Have not eaten anything thus far today. It is 12 noon. Will probably eat a chicken later. Afraid to weigh myself. Will do so in the morning.

Are there wings that don't have a large amount of sugars in it? I thought most chicken wings were covered in sauces.

Alrighty! 204 today!

Been a good weekend. Didn't fall off the wagon too bad actually! Stayed low to mid carb for the most part. Last night I was fiending something and was really hungry so I made 4 eggs and 5 sausage links. It was good!

Haven't eaten yet today. Still weighing my options!

203.5 this morning. My lowest weight in 5 years.

I have my sights on sub 200 by the end of next week.

We'll see how it goes. I need a carbup between now and then so that might stall me before getting below 200 by next week.

I have not been able to do any cardio or gym the past 5 days so the fact I'm still losing weight is good. I will hit the gym today but will have to see about cardio later this afternoon.

185 or bust!

I think you should eat more often. Just like it isn't physically possible to gain more than about a pound or two of "real" muscle a month (without steroids)....it isn't really possible to cut as much weight as you are without a high percentage of muscle along with it. I'm about 5'9, 215 or so....and I eat at the very least 4 times a day on Keto.

Honestly I totally agree with you.

My problem has been not having enough "keto" type foods around me that I really like. I try to keep the fridge here stocked at work with turkey, cheese, etc. but a lot of times those things that sound appetizing to me, so instead of eating them, I just don't eat at all.

This morning I ate some pistachios (not totally low carb but ok) and then a steak salad from Rosie's. I am eating some sausage and cheese right now because I started getting hungry.

Tonight I will probably make eggs and bacon for dinner and do some cardio.
