Im trying to save the 6k in 3 months to attend for this September. I know I will need other certifications, but Im focused on the actual school for right now.

I know there are so many PT courses and schools, so which ones stand out more and are better? The one Im attending is 500 hours - is this decent?

Also, Ive read some other posts about starting out and working your way up, but does anyone do their sessions in their own home with a personal gym? Any feedback on this would help out tremendously!

Thanks!

I know this is a strong bump, but I just found thus thread, and wanted to let you know that in September, I will be attending NPTI-Orlando too! I've heard nothing but good things about it, and have spoken to the woman who runs it. She reassured me that it's an accredited institution, and we have a lot to look forward to :)

Hey guys I went to Orlando NPTI last summer and learned so much it is rediculous. At the time, Paul Prather was my instructor and is a brilliant guy. You will be amazed at how much you thought you knew and how much you will be gaining from this experience. I also went to college before this and still learned more in 4 months than I did in my 2 years of learning at a private school. FYI, after coming home with my Training Certificate from NPTI, I am now the manager/personal trainer of a gym.

I started at NPTI Orlando too. Its a great foundation. I started out working at a bally's and soon got my nsca cert. Its been 3 years since school and now I have my own studio. So its true. You usually have to start at the bottom, but if you work hard you'll work your way up.

Bad, do you own that studio near the old location, I think off orange?
I went to NPTI in Orlando, it's just moved to Altamonte Springs which is still in the Orlando area but a little North of the old location.
I agree, it builds a great foundation. I learned quite a bit, the school will only prepare you for the cert. They currently offer a state certified CPT (Which is not recongized in most gyms) and a pending national certification but who knows when that will be. I got my NSCA to help with the short comings of the NPTI cert.

Hi, I just registered to this site.. searching for info on NPTI and I actually just applied to the school in Orlando for the residential purpose (otherwise I live in Wisconsin) and would love to hear more about the program and outlook for graduates. What type of facilities often hire these graduates and is there a known average salary?

Hello i am looking at going to npti and doing the 6th month program monday-thursday. I have a few questions i hope you can answer. A typical day at class what do you do? Also what are the workouts like? Could i still workout on my own to get my goals or would that be too much?

You work out however the hell you want generally. You will be critiqued on your form and given advice but there is no real set PT schedule. At least there wasn't when I went.

Ok so I know this thread is way old but my husband and I are going this January to Orlando Florida and I am wondering what the neighborhoods are like at the extended stay hotel and the school. We are planning to ride our bikes to and from class.
