Not as cheap as the sears rubber set, but not a bad deal for a 300# set. Are these rubber plates decent?

I may be mistaken, but I believe the sears set is only rubber encased, these are actually solid rubber.

I don't think the Body Solid ones shown are solid rubber either. Usually it's just bumper plates that are solid rubber.

Rubber coated plates are really just to dampen the clanging sound that metal plates make. They are not made for Olympic type lifts.
You will need to look for Bumper Plates, solid rubber, for that purpose.
These would be ok if sound is a problem but I dont see the need for them myself.

Their price looks good until you ask for a shipping quote. I just plugged in my CA zip and they quoted $240.00 shipping .... OUCH! About a month ago I ordered 650 LBS of plates from BestBuyFitness and their shipping was $100.00. Of course if you're in IL you have it made.
