I would like to get some opinioins about my physique, but since I'm not a skinny 20 yr old, I'd rather post my pics here. I have been doing this for less than a year. I'm 41yrs old, 5'5" 130lbs(i gained about 8 lbs over the holidays) I don't know what my bf% is. I would like to compete in figure contest some day, but I dont think I would be ready for that until next year. I do seem to put on muscle pretty easy. 18 mos ago I was out of shape and 175lbs

I'm new and don't know much about bodyduilding or competitions so this is just a BIG PAT ON THE BACK. I think you look awesome!! KUDOs, you're my new role model - way to GO GIRL! What'd you to to get this far in 18 months? wow.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You made my day. I never thought anyone would call me a role model. In answer to your question, I just made up my mind to change my life and make myself happy because no one else was. When I started studying to enter the emergeny medical field, I found that one needs to be healthy and in shape. I used to drink a lot of beer (6pack or more a day) when I stopped, the weight started to come off. I naturally have a high metabolism and put on muscle pretty easy. I need to keep going because I'm now training forthe volunteer fire dept; it' hard work but it's a blast!!

Congratulations. Very nice job and very impressive weight loss. I am not an expert on shows and competitions, but one thought offered. Try building up the shoulders, tri's and lats. Right know they lack the fullness and definition you would seem to need. (This is not meant as a criticism since you have been with this such a relativelyshort time.) Good luck!

Thanks for your input--those ARE my problem areas and I am trying to work on them. It's a little harder since they are my weakest points ad working them is more of a chore.

Lats and backs of shoulders can be particlarly a drag since they are the hardest areas to see improvement on absent lots of mirrors or a good video cam. However, they can also be the most satisfying because they are less likely to be covered by fat and will show definiting pretty quickly (unlike those abs of mine!)and the exercises can be relatively easy. You should also have the satisfaction of feeling much stronger fairly quickly, which will help pay off for your fire fighter gig.

Good luck. With your determination, I am sure you will make it quickly.
