Hiya
Thought i would start a log, as pretty much i was cloging up the keto misc thread :P with my status reports, so figured i would make an offical log for all my fans (do i have any??) lol.
Here's some Background Info
5 feet 8 inch (172cm) Meso-Endo Male, 29 Years old. Living in the UK
As a kid i was not skinny, but not big either, just medium build but not really trim always stronger than my peers tho. then around 22 i was in a bad relationship and got into a really bad depressive stage of my life and ended up after 5 years going from around 80kg to 150kg.
Around 2005-2006 i decided enough was enough, left that relationship and decided i was going to lose the weight. which dint help was by that time i was diagnosed with both Fibromyalgia and Bipolar Disorder, the meds for the latter causes weight gain :( so it was a struggle, tried 40/30/30, tried Atkins, tried High Protien/Low Fat, Tried low carb/low fat. I'd lose some weight with them but would always slip off and it would come right back on, and i was always starving and felt like i was punishing myself which really had an effect on the depression.
then around july 2007 i was around 100kg then, I found out about a local Gym only 10mins walk from mine and thought i would give it a try for a few weeks, I went 4x a week around 1.5 hours a day, really was hell at first i'd get out of breath doing 5 mins on the cross trainer did that untill the 5th of Feb 2008, never missing a day, only when it was closed.
It was around feb i Started keto, I started at 95kg and thought i was crazy, like everybody i thought i was going to have a heart attack eating this way. but i'm never hungry and i'm always in a good mood now, dont feel like i'm punishing myself anymore.
its the 26th of April now and this mornings weigh in i was 88kg, 7kg total loss since feb!!! i think i'll ride the keto train for another 3 months and then look at how things have progressed, i only have to lose another 14kg to put me hopefully at 10% BF.
Any comments or help, please post below :)

good luck, great progress so far! keep it up and you'll see some dramatic differences in a few months.
I know I started keto thinking I'd do a 90 day cut, but I've enjoyed the food so much I am doubtful I will ever stop living this way. The high energy, great skin, great moods, are all too good to give up.
anyway, keep at it.

Had a small carb up/mini cheat Saturday and some of Sunday, weigh in at the min is 88.4kg (0.4kg increase)
whats the best way to get back in ketosis Monday? Cardio (1hr??) and then some weights (30min?) thats my usual post carb/cheat routine gets me back in by Tuesday.

In for epic fat loss!
And to answer your question, normally to get back into keto I'd do a depletion workout (like what you'd do before you start a carbup) with about 30-45min of cardio and a short but intense full body workout (1 set, 6 reps, high weight) of the major lifts (benchpress, squat, arnold press, weighted crunch, curl, upright row).

All yesterday and today, it feels like i have flu :( think i might have caught a bug, left my sports bottle empty on the heater, maybe some bugs grew and i got them when i drank next?
Thanks for the advice terminator6600, looks like i'll be doing that workout today. i'll jack about 60-70kg on the machines.
put on 1.4kg (3lbs) with my carb/cheat day, hoping alot of that is water.
This will be a test of will today, i just wanna crawl back into bed and ride out this flu, but i NEED to do my depletion workout to drop the water/glycogen.

Down to 88.2kg this morning, was pissing most of the damn night, really flushing the water out my system :)
Looks like my body stores about 400g glycogen, which explains pissing out 1.2kg of water last night :S
Still not over this flu, but must bear with it and push on, as the only person i'd be cheating is myself.
only another hour till i go gym :), really enjoying it these days.

Btw, started a weight goal after my maintanence week started 21st of April for one month, lose around 4kg. been weighing every morning and putting the data into FitDay PC and here's the results, as you can see my actual weight is following the predicted weight pretty closely :)

Love the graph man! I did the same thing, except with pen and paper when I was bored in class one day (yes ADD). But I'm in for the 10% BF Goal! Good luck, and gonna track ya! Excellent initial weight loss too.

Thanks to both of you, yeah its pretty easy to setup.
yeah 10% is still 14kg (30lbs) away!!! currently 24% bf. looking to be around 74-76kg (163-167lbs)
then i'm going on a keto bulk :) to around 85kg 8-9% (my main goal/dream)

Todays workout was pretty good, I definitely know when i'm running on ketones as my workouts are amazing, when i'm running on carbs my HR may be a little higher but i'm so sluggish is unbelievable, and have to force myself to finish the 45 mins. But when i'm on ketones i finish my 45mins and want more!!, still a little off today tho as i still have the flu like symptoms but those are fading by the day.

As of this morning, and the end of my Fast. i am now 87kg and 23.7% bf. workout on some calculators and mu LBM droped 1lb, so i guess fasting on keto is a no no :( wont be doing that again.

Had a small Carb day on saturday, got around 100g of carbs, weight dint change much (0.2kg) so back to around 86.8kg. having a half day fast today. from 11am to around 11pm, so thats what? 12 hours? should depleate that liver glycogen. Might go for a walk today also.

Bodys finialy dumped the water, 86.6kg now this morning. Gym should be open today so i'll do a depletion workout just to make sure, will do around an hour of cardio, and 30 mins weights, medium weight (40kg) and high reps around 20.

Fasted from 11pm tuesday to 11pm wednesday (24 hours)
had a small 400kcal meal before bed, and woke up 1kg less (from 87 to 86kg)
felt great the whole time, only time my stomach rumbled was at 9pm.

Still 86kg this morning, but its more consistent now, not fluctuating any more.
rowing is doing a number on my legs, i have aches all over and pains in my muscles, most of it is the fibromyalgia flaring up, but some of it is the rowing, it really works me out, always tired after i finish my 30 mins, where's other machines i could go till i fall off.
today i'll try and take things slow, might take some pain killers
my pains where alot better when i was taking creatine and whey, but those mess with your water retention on keto and will mess up my scale weight. i might take some whey when in a week when this current goal is finished.

85.2kg this morning, i've met my Fitday goal of losing 4kg (9lbs) in 4 weeks with 1 week spare!!! so could lose upto another 1-1.4kg :) did not cheat on saturday either! i got 1kg of chocolate whey for my week off at the end of next week, i'll have a shake with 50g protein and 25g raw oats in full fat milk post workout, see if i can build anything in a 1 week mini bulk before i set another goal.

85.4kg today, and i've noticed something, i've been drinking 1-2 cans of diet coke/coke zero and i've not been losing weight as fast and seem to be holding a little more water weight than usual. maybe its kicking me out of ketosis, strange thing is i can drink diet redbull till it comes out of my ears no problem :)

Finished wednesdays fast at 9pm with a oatmeal flapjack and some cottage cheese.
woke this morning at 84.6kg so thats a 0.6kg loss (1.32lbs) not bad, none come from LBM this time acording to BIA BF% reader so i'm happy about that.
4 days left on my Fitday month goal and i've surpassed my weight loss, goal was 85.4kg.
next week i'm having a week of TKD with 50g carbs before workout and 25 post. with whey and milk. cals will be around 2600 from my usual 1700ish.

Official weight this week is 84.8kg (187lbs) 22.8% BF measurements went down a lot, especially waist/thighs
going to have some clean carbs today, will try not to go overboard.

86.6kg now, put on around 1.8kg of water/glycogen looks like i store around 450g's of carbs in this body of mine :) going to start my 1 week mini bulk to give my body a break from keto, then return on the 24th to keto :) wish me luck that i don't put on too much fat.

Starting my Mini Bulk today, adding around 1000kcals over my usual diet (2794 vs 1750)
the pre shake consists of
300ml milk, 50g oats, 50g whey, 2tbsp peanut butter
post shake is
300ml milk, 25g oats, 25g whey, creatine monohydrate
going to do full body workouts for the 5 days. around 2 hours a day. with 30 mins rowing after. should spank this body up a little :)

Finished my Mini Bulk early Tuesday night as i was finding myself very sluggish and sleepy all the time, carbs obviously dont agree with me now. This baby runs on fat!!!
Started keto again wednesday
woke up this morning (thusday) feeling a little light headed but with a ton of energy so body might be slowly switching back to ketosis :)
Still 87.6kg, most of it i'm hoping is Water weight.
Had a great workout, Hour's worth of cardio (elliptical and rower) and 30 mins weights, 60kg 5x5 been pissing alot since i finished :)

have to wait in for a delivery but will repeat my workout same as yesterdays. get this water out my body. need to drop another 2kg to get to pre-carb week weight.

85.4kg this morning, must be a little water from the 100g oat flapjack i had for my carb meal.
Day off from Gym today, so decided to do a modified fat only fast, around 1000 cals, tbsp each of olive and flax oils, every 4 hours. with pleanty of water.
Hoping to drop maybe a kilo and a half.

84.4kg this morning, the fat fast droped 1kg all from fat!!! cant belive it, the last fast i went on, a few weeks ago i lost half fat half lbm, but that was nill by mouth, this time i had 2tbsp oil every 4 hours.

84.4kg again this morning official weight and measurement day, lost another 2cm on the waist and i am now at 22.7% BF according to my reader.
decided to have a little carb up a day early so i can fast again tomorrow took in 180g, tomorrows weight i expect to be around 85.2kg.
Will go on another fat fast tomorrow and get rid of the carb/water weight and possibly some fat along the way.

85kg this morning, so calc was almost right.
having a coffee and taking my sups/fish oil/vits etc.
had first 2tbsp's oil at 10am, will continue every 4 hours. with maybe another two coffee's. will flush the water out, and some fat along the way, hope to get down to 84kg.

Still 84.4kg, threw out the aspartame as i think thats affecting my losses. using my little tabs again for coffee, only 2 clicks this time from 3 found 3 was far too sweat.
Plan another fat and water fast tomorrow as its wednesday :) why do i look foward to not eating??? i always feel great.

Was 84.2kg this morning and not eaten yet since my pre-bed cc last night at 9pm.
woke up at 8am and at 10 did my weigh in and took my 1st 2 tbsp's olive oil, had to go mums to called a taxi and took a peparami for 2pm.
by 10am tomorrow morning the fast will have lasted 35 hours total, 16 sleeping. hope i wont cut into too much lean.

Could not go to the Gym yesterday, so i decided to have a refeed as a treat for getting down to 84kg. went to a Chinese buffet, and coming from a keto background the food was so salty and dry, i could hardly swallow most stuff!!! never going there again, and something in the food must have trigged my fibromyalgia as my muscles and joints inflamed like mad.
Going gym today, will do 24 mins each on the following, rowing machine, cross trainer, and treadmill

Had a small carb up on saturday, 75g total
Sunday now, so modified fat fast. 960 total cals for the day, from flax and ev olive oil.
Still 84kg, hope to break 83kg tomorrow, its been going up and down since the 5th because of the chinese buffet and of course the small carb meal.
Next week going to buckle down and lose this weight!!!

Mondays weigh in, 83.6kg so i lost around 0.4kg (nearly 1lb) in my fast :)
down to 22.3%.
Gym today at 2pm, and will go for a longish walk after as its sunny :)

Still 83.6kg, brought a kilo of peanut butter today, will exchange my 2 servings of olive/flax oil for 3 servings peanut butter (2 tbsp a serving) been having cravings for the past two days, damn why did i have to try it after years of hating it!!!
total cals will be around 1733kcals.

Started my fast yesterday at 84kg, ended the fast this morning at 83.4kg. Ate 1200kcals that day.
Today, i will be going to the gym as its Thusday, going to try and avoid the rower as its causing a knot in my back :(
Just threw up some calculations and got the following from my fast
84kg 18.9kg fat 65.1k muscle
83.4 18.52kg fat 64.88k muscle
0.38kg fat loss
0.22kg muscle loss

83.6kg this morn. Decided the skip the gym and went for a long walk instead in the sun, dont like being stuck in doors all day. walked with little rest for 1hr 20m around 360kcals.
Starting monday i'm going to up my daily workouts from 400kcals to 600kcals and get my physical max burn of 0.84kg a week (1% loss) should speed things up and its only an extra 24 mins.

Today i'm 84.2kg after my carbup (458 grams) ate around 3300kcals all in all, dint really binge, kept most of the carbs slow digesting oat flapjacks and a little chocolate.
Starting tomorrow i'm going to add another 200 cals burned in my workout, so thats 24mins more cardio or around 30 mins weights, i'll do weights tomorrow to get these carbs out.
Today being sunday its my fat fast, so around 960cals 90%+ from fat.

After my carbup i'm down to 83.8kg, did hour and 15 mins cardio, around 600kcals burned. Pissed tons after so i hope i've gotten rid of the carbs. we'll see what i weigh tomorrow :D

It's all good, strive for 6 clean/small meals today and tomorrow and continue your exercise as you usually would. I think you could continue to lose with that small change.

Some how i dropped 0.8kg (1.76lbs) since yesterday :O i'm down to 83kg on the nose now!!!. Must have been the water i was still carrying since saturdays carbup, i did do a pretty hard cardio session (1hr:30mins) was crawling back from the gym, BF% is down to 22.1%
As its wednesday its the day of my fat fast (960-1000cals mostly from olive oil) will take each dose every 4 hours :) works pretty well for burning a little fat, spose its a little like calorie cycling, my hi days are around 1750, low cal days are 960ish (sun/wed)

My energy levels are fine, sometimes i do kinda crash but thats only after my workout. i'm an endomorph so have to be pretty drastic with cals to loose weight (fat)

82.8KG :) finally hit 82's :O
Just eating my bacon and sausage :)
my thighs are getting really slim, worrying about getting stick legs :( no muscle loss tho, just alot of fat going from that area, and lower ab fat is going too, seems my belly fat is going top down, bottom up and middle last!!

82.6kg, yesterdays gym workout was pretty good, dint hurt my back rowing, and did high speed high incline walking for 30 mins, will do the same workout again today.

82.2/.4 this morning, it kept fliping between the two. Sundays fast today. dint wake up till 12 noon. 2tbsp olive oil every few hours to keep my body from eating muscle :D these fasts always make me feel so much better.
Update.
been having cravings all day for pizza, so decided after 7 months it was time to indulge. Ordered some Cheesy Fries and 10" pizza. dint enjoy them as much as i thought i would, feel really sluggish and sleepy, still have 2 slices left which i'll think i'll bin as i'm stuffed.

After the pizza incident on sunday, my weight shot up to 83.4kg on Tuesday morning!!!. Its wednesday day and after pissing like crazy all day tuesday, i'm back down to 82.6kg :)
Its wed's fast today, going to skip the cottage cheese at night time and just have the olive oil 4x a day every 4 hours. woke up around 9am today.

Think i'll do some more cross trainer and high incline (10) walking at 5k m/h
Gotta burn 600 cals a day at the gym, for a loss of 1.85lbs a week :)

All this week my weights been dropping steady, got down to 81.2kg yesterday. this morning tho its jumped back upto 82kg :O wtf happened, nothings changed in the diet!!!. i'm hoping its just water. Official weigh in tomorrow :D

Was up ALL night pissing like a race horse :( ate a ton of fat tho yesterday so maybe thats why? and i'm back in ketosis :) finally found pork rinds!!!! god they smell disgusting but taste so delicious!!!
weight this morn was 81.6kg and 21.5% BF :) so i hope to be heading down to 81.2kg again soon :), cant get back into the gym till tuesday because i'm skint till payday.

Looks like 2100 cals is my maintenance!!! damn endo genetics LBM is 140lbs, times that by 15 and you get my 2100 :( weight has stayed around 81.8-82.2 so very little change, i'll keep this up for another week or two, then cut down to 1680 again

you gotta love that endo genetic gift, that we've been blessed with. /hate
Well there are a couple things you could try. I know that some people successfully upped their maintenance level to what the "calculators" suggested.
Most guys who did this, made some long term lbm gains while losing fat (re-comp).
I've experimented with diets a lot in the past few months, and found out that the longer you cut, the lower your maintenance calories drop. (also dropping your cut level, sometimes under calculated BMR). I've been cutting for the past 7 months and I'll continue 'till I get to 9% bf, but I know that I'll have to drop calories to new lows in order to progress or raise them way over to achieve results.
Nothing else you can do about it. In a way you have to stay in-consistent (but not based on a week or two, rather make it a month) and throw challenges at your body an metabolism.
Like when you upped your calories for a few days. There are a lot of tools in your arsenal, don't give up and stay motivated. This ain't a sprint....but a marathon. (such a cliche)

Yeah taking the advice from the keto misc i'm going to increase cals to around 2400, and have a pwo whey/dex shake with water (dint taste too bad actualy) and do 4x full body workouts each week, cutting the cardio to zero as its all i've done for the past 3 months!!! and to be honest its boring as hell. Started lifting 30kg (66lbs) today and gah it killed me (doing 5x5) !!! i remeber just a few months ago i was doing 2x that!! and not breaking a sweat :( spose i gotta start at the begining again, but this time 45lbs less fat :D spose my body will recomp now. Still staying on the keto route, never leaving that road :)

Don't worry about the whole "you've gotta lift heavy" propaganda. I did, and it only led to several injuries. Make gradual increases as soon as you can finish all sets with proper form, but don't count on huge gains while on a "cut".

Thinking of starting the creatine again too, it helped alot with the lifting and my aches/pains from fibromyalgia. could i add it to my pwo shake (whey 50g/dex 15g)

Must have been still holding some carbs in my system, as my wednesday fast i dropped a whole kilogram (2.2lbs)!!! the weight lifting on tuesday must have used up the last of my glycogen :) but now i'm back down to 81.2KG and can start making progress again :D

81.4kg today, still a little sore from the workout so may change my routine to mon/wed/fri so i have a rest day between workouts, will still have the pwo shake on non workout days as my muscles will need the protien/creatine to repair. and i will only fast 1 day week, sunday.

Sunday today, weighed in at 82.6 as i had some carbs saturday. think the creatine is starting to take hold as my muscles dont feel so weak anymore and i dont wake feeling run down. wonder how mondays workout is going to be, hope its better than wednesdays, the creatine should help by now :)

Wednesday now, on tuesday i swapped olive oil for peanut butter, easier to take and just as much fat and a little protien. down to 82.6kg again as i was upto 83.2 the other day. getting in around 2500-3000 cals and i'm losing weight :S strange. still working with 30kg weights (66lbs) but next week i'll add 5kg (11lbs) to my stack and keep going.

Just done some rough math and got the following from my two weeks eating 2400-2500.
Start 81.2kg 21.4% BF
End 83.2kg 22.2% BF
LBM Gain 1.0064kg
FAT Gain 1.0936kg
so looks like i gain muscle and fat at nearly 1:1 :( with fat coming on a little faster.

today's weigh in i'm 83.4kg, gone up a little but that's to be expected as i'm eating higher cals :P but nothing too drastic measurements have stayed the same or gone down and BF% has gone a little lower.

Monday now, weigh 83.2kg at 22.2% BF and finished my two weeks of maintenance and gained 1.2kg of LBM so now slashing cals to around 1500 for the next 4 weeks.

Losses are coming, droped from 83.4kg on tuesday to 83.0kg today :D hope this trend continues. Set a personal goal of losing 4.5kg in 4 weeks, and i'm going to be serious the whole 4 weeks. zero cheats.
