I am looking for some general information about a career as a personal trainer, primarily in the areas of compensation and career advancement. I received a business degree, but am having trouble finding a job that I would really like to make a career out of, so I am thinking of going through the process of becoming a certified personal training. Any information, general or specific, would be appreciated along with any links that might be useful. Thanks in advanced!

honestly, go start at a big gym like 24 hour fitness. They push personal training more than any other big gym. You won't make much but you will get clients faster than doing it privately, get the experience you need very fast and build a clientele. Then go private.

with a background in business you can go into the managment end of training and make really good money. This requires strong sales exp.

A friend of mine was just offered a district VP position with LA fitness which would pay over $200,000 a year.
