Okay so I'm officially now a University student because I have my courses in place and everything is set. I even have my student card. lol I hope the other kids don't call me Grandpa!!
My first lectures start two weeks tomorrow and I'm scared s**tless. lol
I managed to cram my entire full course load into two days worth of lectures and tutorials on a Monday and a Wednesday each week. That's seven hours of lectures a day. I'm wondering now if I've bitten off more than I can chew here. My first semester goes until Aug 1 and I have to keep a B average to stay in the field I want. I've never been a B student before but then again that was over 28 years ago now.
I know my kids are chomping at the bit to start bugging me if I have my homework done. lol

I'm also frustrated because my back is still bad from hurting it working in the barn a week ago and I haven't been able to work out since. Grrrrrrr!!!!

Oh on a side note, my daughter (who is eleven) came first in the Provincial semi finals for public speaking and now advances to compete in the Ontario Provincial finals two weeks from now. She is amazing the way that she can seduce a crowd of people into listening to her. What a natural talent she has. I know one thing for sure is that this town isn't going to be big enough for her when she gets older.

Hey, Jeff!! Way to go, man! I'm proud of you for taking the leap to go back to school!!! I did that back in January after also being out of school for 28 years. I've got my student ID card, my backpack, my voice recorder (and if you don't have one of those, get one, because it's an incredible help to be able to listen to the lectures again and again!!) and my Rainbow (r) flip-flops.:)

I'm in class 4 nights a week (can't do daytime cuz I've got a full-time job), usually 4 hours a night. My kids bug me about doing my homework and nagging me to study, too. But I've never been called 'grandpa,' even though I'm the oldest person in my classes. You really don't look 46--most of the kids in my classes think I'm 30-something. Somehow I managed to end my first quarter (my college is on a quarter system) with a 4.0 average. I was a C-average (or worse) student when I was in college the first time.

I was incredibly nervous before I started class too, man. But now that nervousness has been replaced with excitement, because I can't wait to get to class at night (even Anatomy & Physiology) and I'm excited to be learning what I'm learning. I'm finally studying something I really want to be studying, and that makes all the difference.

Good luck to you, man! Be cool and you should have no trouble getting back in the swing of school--the hardest thing for me was having to re-learn how to study. I'm still not great at it, and there's lots of distractions, too, but things are going well.

Jeff, congratulations and good luck with your studies! Leaps of faith like this will make you stronger, man. :)

By the way, I like your signature! LOL! Boys will be boys. LOL!

Nervous? about what? Take a look at your daughter and then ask the question "What do I have to be afraid of"?

This is the age where "we" do things because WE CAN. Any attitude about being too much to handle can screw everything up.

You have the courage to take this on. Have the courage to know you can do it...

My hats off to you for taking such a step for yourself and your daughter..

Good for you! I am 34 not quite 35 yet, but I just went back to school at the age of 32. I got my Associates in Graphic Design and am now continuing for a Bachelors in 3d modeling so I will be about 36 close to 37 when I graduate. I also feel like I sometimes waited to late in life, but ya know what, I dont believe that. We are out there doing our best, and bettering ourselves so good for you! Learn as much as you can, because its something that can never be taken away from you. Congrats again, I am sure you will do great.
