Yesterday I was doing dumbbell incline bench presses. The hardest part for me on this exercise is just getting to the starting position when you kick your knees up and try to get the dumbbells up. So I was trying to get to starting position with the weight increased from the last 2 sets and I struggled to get the weights up. Unfortunately, my left arm failed to get up and I struggled to fight and bring it up. However, I felt something tear or stretch so I immediately dropped the dumbbells.

On a side note, I did not have a spotter nor did I ask for one (stupid!) because I thought I would be fine since it was just dumbbells that you can drop if you fail. I learned my lesson.

I hope it's nothing serious but I just wanted your opinions on what kind of injury this is. I can't pinpoint the pain in my shoulder but I really feel it if I do a stretch like this: http://www.weightlossforall.com/images/back%20lat%20fingers%20up%20stretch.JPG

I really feel it when I do that stretch but I still feel a strain at stationary position.

Is this something that just needs rest or do I need to see a doctor?

Thanks in advance.
