So after countless hours of researching this diet. I have came to a conclusion. Keto is for me. It will be tough living without carbs everyday but I want to lose my fat.

A little about me. I'm 27 years old a shade under 6ft. And about 200lbs. But very high body fat. Due to skinny face and legs and arms. I dont look fat at all with clothes on. But my stomach, chest and upper legs are all very fat and stubborn. When I was younger 8 years to about 13 I was a very fat kid. Ate just about everything in site. Then when I got in my early teens the weight came off and I was pretty thin. Real thin actually. But I was still soft. Especially in my chest and stomach. Small, but very soft. Now in my mid 20's im the heaviest I have ever been. With training I have built up my body. The problem is with bad (inconsistant) dieting its mostly covered with fat. I tried the 40-40-20 and had ok success. But never stayed true to it and found myself binging and cheating way too often. So I feel Keto is a diet I could keep in control. High Fat, No carbs! How hard is that. I will introduce the weekly carb up after two weeks.

Last night knowing it was my last night of eating like a 16 year old kid with a fast metabolism, I was like King Kong. Drank about 8 beers, ate pastas, pizza and everything else in my way. I know, I know what your thinking. I wont last 3 days on keto. Im hear to tell ya, I will succeed.

My Goals - Losing 25lbs by the end of summer. Say End of September. Feeling healthier, getting more energy and keeping most of my muscle that I added this last winter in the gym.

My Diet - Will consist of Eggs, meat, nuts, whey drinks, little greens, cheese, fatty oils. Pretty easy to make stuff. Not a chef and not rich enough to be eating crazy food.

Weights and Cardio - I will work out 4 days a week. 2 Body Parts a day. Ending each session with a 30 minute moderate pace bike ride.

Supplements - A multi vitamin, Whey, Cassien protein, White Flood and Purple Wrath. Fish and Flax oils

I have added pics, for progress and for you to see how fatty I am...

Looks like you have a good base to build on. Just stick to it, and you will see some great changes. Looks like you have a good plan.

Post up how many calories you will be shooting for if you could!

Also what do you plan on doing for carb ups?

I always try to eat atleast 2200-2500 cals. Atleast when I was eating carbs. So with the higher fat take probably keep it around the same.

Carb ups, Im still debatting on this. My only problem is that im very worried about losing energy early on Keto. I start my baseball season this week and worried that I wont be able to go full out or have full focus. I know its only baseball and wont be doing to much running. But I do play OF and want to perform my best. Wish I would have started a couple weeks ago. But I plan on eating mostly Oats, brown rice or potatos. Nothing crazy. I really want to lose weight, so im going to keep it clean. Not really sure if im going to go crazy on carb ups. But atleast add them in here and there.

Ok here we go for my 1st day of Keto.

Gotta tell ya for the first day it was tough lol... Watching my kids and wife eating lasagna and cheese bread. I ate chicken with cheese instead : )

I didn't work today because Sunday is an off day. I think it would have been ok, had descent energy throughout the day.

Meal 1 5 Full Egg omelot with Ham and cheddar cheese cooked in Olive Oil

Meal 2 Beef and mozzarella stix, whey protein drink with water

Meal 3 Almonds for a snack, piece of cheese

Meal 4 2 5oz Chicken breast with american cheese and low carb ranch dressing. Also a little bacon and salad greens.

Meal 5 Before bed Whey drink with a table spoon of PB

Also taken fish oil caplets throughout the day along with a multi vitamin this morning

A mid day report. Just a day and half on Keto, so dont really know if anything is going on with me. Day started off great, felt great had energy. Then like everyday around noon I get tired and my allergies start to kick in. Just got home from work and Im about to hit the gym. Thinking about changing to a Upperbody/Lower split. Im thinking Mon, Tues and Wed might be my only days to lift. I start baseball this week and I'm playing Thursdays, Fridays and most weekends. Im not sure what to do yet. My wife is already beating me up over the baseball. But I will make sure I have time for the gym during the week.

One thing I did notice today is that I was really, really hungry. I will put my diet up later tonight. Well I better get to the gym before I get too tired...

OK so day 2 is about over for me. And I think so far so good. Workout was a bit rough. Didn't have great energy during my lifts but its got better for my 30 min bike ride. Feel really good right now though : ) About to go lay in the hot-tub and listen to some baseball. A week ago, I would have 4 beers in the tub. A large glass of water will do for me tonight though... Im still trying to figure the whole carb up deal. But im waiting a couple weeks anyway before I do it.

Todays diet

Meal 1 - 4 sausages, 3 pieces of bacon, 2 friend eggs

Meal 2 - 2 slim jims and 2 mozzarella stix

Meal 3 - Hand full of cheese, peanuts

Meal 4 - 8oz Steak with butter and green beans

Meal 5 - Whey protein with water and tablespoon of peanut butter

Also taken multi vitamins, fish oil caplets

Macros estimated on Fitday.com

2243 calories 185 g fat 30g carbs 185g protein

Probably not perfect yet, still a work in progress. Need to go shopping tomorrow to pick up some salmon, tuna, chicken and steak...

you could replace the mozzeralla stix and slim gyms with steak or chicken in oil.

Welp day 3 has almost come and go and I have to tell ya. It sucked lol
I dont know if it my allergies or the fact that I slept like crap last night? But I felt like poop. Very tired, kinda feverish, Crabby. Just awful. My workout is weak and my cardio session was tough. But during leg day this is almost always the case. Im going to jot down my days diet then hit the hottub then bed.

Meal 1 Steak and cheese omelot <--- best thing I have ate in years

Meal 2 6oz Steak with butter

Meal 3 Chicken breast, green beans and 2 pieces of cheese

Meal 4 2 cans of tuna, with Mayo <--- very tough to eat without bread

I will be back tomorrow, hopefully goes alot better with a good night sleep...

Thats normal, I think most of us go through this. We'll see who the crazy ones are when you're shredded :D AND eating your sausages! (*Oh noes!)

yeah, for most people, diet soda is fine. i've read that is supposedly kicks people out of ketosis, but most people around here drink it and it's no big deal.

i drink it every day and i've had no problems.

By the way, amazing that you have the will power to keep with the keto while your family chomps away at the carb heavy foods.

Because of my inability to stick to my diet while watching my fiance eat certain carby foods that are weaknesses for me (peanut butter honey sandwiches, tortilla chips, rice and beans) he's basically on keto for dinner every night when we eat together. He has to eat his favorite carby foods in the morning before i wake up or when he's having lunch at the office. Poor guy! :)

But because of these restrictions i've imposed, he goes out to lunch and eats chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and comes home and tells me all about it. Poor me. :) lol

Thanks for stopping by. Im a fan of your Keto knowledge : ) Good thing you did too. Because Deit Mt. Dew is my coffee. I dont know if I could go without it. One early in the day and 1 with dinner is all I need. I have been throwing back tons of water. So hopefully im ok.

Yeah the wife makes it tough on me. She loves her carbs. The funny thing is she half way through her "Dietician" internship. She tells me im crazy and or dumb for doing this. I guess she hears alot about it. Whatever. She's just lucky she has great genetics... My biggest killer will be sandwiches and pasta. But so far loving the steak and eggs : )

Day 4 went really well. Energy was back up, I wasn't cranky and food tasted great. So I got on the scale this morning and it showed 190. 8lbs less then I was Sunday lol. Im guessing it was just early morning or a bit of water or something. I got on this afternoon and it was around 195. My workout was descent not great. Struggling with my powerlifts. Im also dealing with some knee pain. I have had knee problems since High School and they just seem to never go away.

Meal 1 Ham and Cheese omelot, 4 sausage links
Meal 2 Hand full of almonds, piece of cheese
Meal 3 Whey with water and spoon full of Peanut Butter
Meal 4 8oz Tbone Steak with broccoli

Didn't eat as much as I would have liked. Busy day at work and only had time really to snack. Might add something before bed.

Missed yesterday's log because of my busy day. Worked 10 hours then went to play ball. Gotta tell ya though. It was rough. I felt very slow. I wonder if it has anything to do with the lack of carbs? The diet is great so far. Really enjoying all the steak and eggs : ) But the lack of energy really sucks..

Today nothing has changed but this time I added a slight fever. I think allergies are really kicking in. Kinda sucks because I have another game late tonight... Im going to hit the sauna up and maybe I will feel better.

Tomorrow will add up the diet totals....

Well I feel a little better today, but definetly have some sort of an sinus infection. Wife thinks its Keto related lol. But I usually get about 6-7 a year. Allergies suck. Havent really worked out since Wednesday but I think im going to get a upper in later today.

I went to the meat market the other night and spent about $200 on steak. So the last few days its been nothing but steak and eggs. And im loving every bit of it. : )

Last night I had a baseball game and just felt weak. I dont know because of the sinus problems or what. But man that was rough. Kinda lookin forward to a carb up next weekend.

Going out to Dinner tonight with the fam. Not sure what im going to eat. I'm thinking Steak or Salmon. Or both : )

Slacking on the fitday.com but am pretty sure my stats are pretty good. Considering I have eaten the same stuff pretty much for the last week...

Welp its been 1 week since I started Keto. And I have to tell ya, I love it. Had a couple rough days with fatigue. But other then it's been better then expected. Haven't had any real cravings for carbs. Only when my wife cooks pastas. lol But so far, so good.

I checked this morning to see if I was in Ketosis and I think I am. The strip came up purple. So thats good news.

Had probably my best workout today since being on Keto. I felt great, lift were solid and cardio session was great. I do think I need to drink more water though. Am having some dehydration problems here and there.

Todays diet

Meal 1 Gyro Omelot with Feta cheese, 4 sausage links
Meal 2 2 hotdogs with cheese
Meal 3 Post workout whey with water
Meal 4 coming. Either Steak or Chicken

Another pretty good day. Didn't get to eat as much as I would have liked. Traveling all day for work. Had to snack on almonds and cheese. But did have a great Steak and cheese omelot for breakfast and 3 nice size Burger paties with cheese for dinner.

Cals were down a bit. Around 1800.

Did a light leg day today. Still pretty sore from baseball lol.

I have to admit, feeling lighter already lol. Scale said 190 after lifting. So the water is coming off. Now hopefully the fat is next.

I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow and pick up a few things. (natty PB, fish, olive oils, and pepperoni) I cant wait for pepperoni :)

Another Keto day just about over. Went pretty well altough I think im starting to have carb cravings. I'm going to have my first carb up Saturday. Not really planned out yet. But I cant wait.

Meal 3 Hand full of almonds
Meal 4 9oz Steak, asparagus
Meal 5 Natty PB

Like I said above, have had some strong cravings for carbs. And been pretty hungry all day. Cant wait for tomorrows breakfast. Although I didnt get to go shopping today. Going to be another easy omelot.

Didn't lift today but did 40 minutes moderate intensity on the stationary bike.
