Woot! ;) The peace and quiet is nice!
So- the hubby and I had our first ballroom dancing lesson this evening- part of my master plan to get the entire family involved in more active recreation time ;) It was fun- not high intensity cardio- but it was activity- and activity is good ;)
Sunday I head up to the gym again for a cardio day, then Monday hitting the iron :)
(Tomorrow I may also duck up to the gym for some extra cardio just to get away from everyone LOL I love the inlaws, but I may well wanna disappear for awhile ;) )

I will not fear
Fear is the mindkiller,
Fear is the little death
That brings total Oblivion
I will permit my fear to pass
Over me and through me
And where it has gone
I will turn the inner eye
Nothing will be there
Only I will remain.

I'm still on board, but what the fcuk? Why do WE need to start a new thread? You mean to tell me the mods can't jus say saty off or be banned?
Anyway, I'm glad to see all of you here. I go tomorrow to get BF tested by BOD-POD. It is supposed to be super accurate. I have looked into how it works and should be right on the money. I'm hoping for 25% which would put me at 255 lbs lean. assuming I (nor anyone else) can achieve zero BF that would put me 268 lbs at 5%. Talk about dream land.......
Many of us have fat loss logs elsewhere on this site too, but this is a very cool "homebase" or as I have said group therapy. This week I will be concentrating on diet and accurate tracking of diet.

So my new goal is to rip a big phone book in half... Don't know why, just want to do it... I did some magazines and a lil 1 inch phone book... The one for my city is like 4 inches thick... I will rip it come hell or high water... It's stupid, but it's been driving me nuts not being able to do it! I'm weird I guess...
Anyways, cardio today...
15 min HIIT on treadmill, 15 min @ 6% incline, 3.5mph
15 min in stream room (I'm addicted to it now... Feels so relaxing!)

I also played some Gran Turismo 4 on my nephews PS2. Good Luck on the phone book. Now I am curious about it.

Alright, since nobody answered my last question, i'll ask a new one-how well do those weight vests work? Bigdaddy ty, and others-how has it worked for you. With the bad knee, cardio is a bitch. Does the vest make walking more of a cardio thing?
I'm gonna check into the new gym by my house and see if I can get a one month trial membership and see if the eliptical works out for me.

when i was at 340, walking with no vest was plenty of cardio! the vest would be hard on the knee, i think. i have never tried it, though.
the elliptical or similar low/no impact machines are also a great option. but if you have been doing no cardio at all, just start walking and go from there.

Yeah with a bad knee, a weight vest would not be a good idea for cardio... I'm using mine more for conditioning than anything else.

What's up fellas!
I'm going to go ahead and post yesterdays stats and todays as well.
Yesterdays workout:
(everything is 3 sets of 8 reps yesterday)
Incline:
1.) 135lbs
2.) 145lbs
3.) 155lbs
Squat:
1.)135lbs
2.) 185
3.)200
(i have terrible form so I can't lift as much as I would like, as it's hard for me to keep my back straight, but im working on it.)
Powercleans:
1.) 115
2.) 125
3.) 130
Bench:
1.)135
2.)140
3.)145
(I usually can do more on bench, but I was so exhausted after those powercleans, lol.)
I'm pretty sore today so I don't know if im going to do any lifting. I may do some light curls or something, but as far as excercise today goes, I will probably just play some basketball, or football or such, something to get me moving, but does not require alot of lifting.
I stayed home from school today due to my brother not feeling good (he is my ride.) so my diet has been TERRIBLE.
7am- two Cherry poptarts.
1:30ish- Taco Bell quesadilla (chicken), soft taco, and 3 pizza hut breadsticks with a large ice water.
For dinner, or anything else I eat today will be tuna or chicken, I feel like I already slipped up, although I can't help it, as tile is being put down upstairs and I don't have access to alot of the appliances and such.
3:30- aaahhh, the temptation that friends bring! Went to a buddies house, ate 3-4 dinner rolls (small rolls, mind you.) and drank a vitamin water. Played basketball for about 30 minutes, however.

Had a fairly bad weekend, but not too bad (just not good), but I am back on track today. I've cut out some of the questionable stuff from my diet, not calories, just foods. I've introduced some more veggies into my diet now and hopefully this week will prove that I've made a good choice. I'll post my weight on May 1st... I 2nd what the other guys said about the vest, with your knee problem you'll put to much stress on it and cause more trouble(we don't want that).Keep with the walking, increase your pace overtime as you adapt, also try low impact cardio the stationary bike is great for that and so many others at the gym, check them out and find what works best for you...

What do you guys think is more effective for weight loss, either weight lifting and cardio, or just cardio, or even just weight lifting? I know weight lifting burns calories, but i'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the concept of being able to lose weight while lifting weights and gaining weight from muscle.

Weight Lifting > Cardio if you must pick one or the other.
Combine both for optimal results.

That works great then, because that is basically the workout we do at football conditioning.... wieght lifting, agility drills, and then running.
Here's a little something I wrote in my Myspace blog that I like to read when I'm having trouble with eating bad..... thought you guys might get a kick out of it as well.
Dear Food,
No longer will you be a burden upon me. No longer will you control my life, and my actions. I'm stronger than you, and I will beat you. It's over, I'm serious. I'm tired of you "Weighing" me down, and making me feel worse and worse about myself. Everytime I slip up, im going to counter attack with working out. I will be active, i will lose the weight, and i will not fail. I will not let myself fail. I'm tired of always giving up, giving in to you, no longer will this happen. Food, you are a tool, nothing else. You are fuel for my body to accomplish the physical, and mental tasks I perform throughout the day. That is it. You will no longer be more than that, you will no longer be a comfort, but a basic need, that will be met, but not overdone. Food, our relationship is over, I'm sorry, but im taking control of you, and my life.

I say weight lifting if I had to pick just one,but as Normal stated combine the both for the best results. It just depends on what type of body you are looking for.

Sounds good little brah, food is not the enemy but what types of food and how much we eat of it is the greatest problem.I've work out all the time and like most if I can eat better I would be better, food is energy as long as it the right foods and not the junk we put in our bodies everyday.

weights.
1. lean muscle requires energy (calories burnt) just to exist. Therefore a muscular physque burns more calories than a leaner one.
2. Lifting weights burns considerably more calories than cardio. Consider the intensity difference. This applies to a higher rep style workout especially, but even power lifters move so much total weight, they require additional calories just to not lose muscle weight.
3. Muscle is FIVE TIMES denser than fat. A person can reduce every single body measurement and still actually gain weight due to increased musclemass.
Please note cardio is important to your overall health and shouldn't be avoided. In order to maximize fat loss, cario should be of high intensity.

Battery is a bad ass workout song. It was in my mp3 player and came up at about the end of my workout, and it actually gave me a little boost. I know Fred is a big fan.
Tomorrow will be a big post day for me, I have spent the day obtaining stats, BF%, weight, diet info, etc. All to be poted here.......

Saw them from the 5th row at the Dome when they toured with GNR. I won the lottery at Karma Records and was able to buy 12 tickets. To walk out and hand 12 5th row tickets to friends. I missed a concert when I was in college. Later i found out-there was no opening act, no theatrics. Metallica walked on stage, played every song from every album (at the time) in order and walked off stage. That would rock. I recently saw Drowning Pool with Saliva at a small venue. That was a good show too, but you must see Metallica.

Ate 2315 calories yesterday (60% fat / 12% carbs / 28% protein) and I'm eating the exact same things today.
I haven't lifted weights in 5 days now, but I've been keeping up with the cardio every day. I just did 30 minutes of intense (85%) cardio today and burnt 528 calories.
Tomorrow night I plan to do a hefty workout in the gym + the dreaded stair run! (up and down the stairs 25 times). I did it in 7 minutes last time hoping to beat that. On workout days I'm going to add an extra protein shake in after the workout which will bring my calories up to about 2550.
As much as I am against having my calories this low, it seems to be where my body feels comfortable and loses weight. I'm only eating 7 calories per LB but I feel generally good and have decent amounts of energy.

FINALLY got back to the gym today, did a mile on the elliptical, 6 miles on the bike, and a bunch of different arm lifts. Then I cane home and shot baskets for an hour, along with walking to and from the gym.
Feel so nice right now, but lots of work to finish before Friday.

I found out today that my Dad had a heart attack either yesterday or the day before. I dunno how well he is doing or anything cuz my dads side of the family all hates one another( I dunno why ) I only know that he is in a hodpital in Mt. Home, Arkansas, and that he had 3 stints(spelling) put in. He wasnt overweight, he was very athletic, but his diet was crap. I know the anguish, greif, the feelings of loss I have felt today I DO NOT WANT MY SON TO FEEL ANYTIME SOON. I have a new motivation, a real one. I might be off of here for a few days to figure out what teh helll is going on, but bieng fat is over for me. I cant believe it has taken this to get me going, but I had trouble dealing with the fact my DAd could be dying, let alone my little boy trying to deal with this. I type this with tears in my eyes, it sucks, I have let my SOn down for so many years, I could be dead already, I just am emotionally drained. I will be back in a few. I will not break my diet again. I'm really sorry to hear that Fred and I wish you and your family the best in both spirit and health.
Don't beat yourself up personally over this Fred. You've been consistent with your workouts and you seem to be sticking with your diet from what you post on the forums. It sounds like everything is coming together for you even before this tragedy happened.
I know what you mean though on how sometimes it takes a cataclysmic event to really wake you up and see what needs to be changed. On April 21, 2006, I survived a car accident at 40 MPH that totaled my car and took my out entire driver's side not more than a foot from where I was in the car. I walked away without so much as a scratch or pain. That was when it hit me it was time to change.
Good luck becoming the man you want to be and I wish your dad the road to a speedy recovery.

Dude,
I thought i was having a bad day. I'm totally bummed to hear about your pop. Physical fitnessis only one of a multitude of things affecting health. Some people are pre-dispossed to high cholesterol, heart disease, etc. The good news is it sounds like he is doing better and these days, heart stents are very common. My guess is he will be home by the end of the week.
Now, VERY IMPORTANT-do not refer to yourself as letting your son down. Some kids never see their dad, or worse see their dad drunk, high or beating their mom. Some kids get beat themselves. Some kids don't see their dad at their sporting or school events. (by choice not chance) Some kids live in squalor, have little or nothing to eat, no medical care, no role models. Some kids feel no love, have no idea about wrong or right, no religion and no family.
Does any of this describe your son? Of course not. Why? Because his parents, including you have not let him down. Watching you adapt and change your lifestyle, regardless of how successful YOU think you are, teaches your son more about life than you could write in a hundred books. You've already said you take him fishing. Teach him what you can in the time you have, because God (or fate) decides when you leave this world, not so-called "experts", or doctors or trainers.
Be proud of what you have done and taught your son and cherish the time you've had with him.
Godspeed

Checkin in, diets been pretty bad for the last few months, gonna cut for like 12-13 weeks and try to get down to 279.9lbs or below.
My proposed diet is on my journal wondering if it looks good to y'all.....
Ill also be cycling off creatine in like 7.5 weeks so that SHOULD provide me with some weightloss (using monohydrate)...maybe 5-10lbs.
Look realistic to everyone?
Ill do a "cheat day" on sundays but it wont be like a free for all...more like an egg white omelet and flax seed wrap with ketchup for breakfast and then NORMAL portioned eating out for lunch/dinner, and a Muscle milk Lite in water before bed.

Hey Fred, glad to hear your Dad is alright.
Sounds like you guys aren't too close....sometimes situations like this will actually bring you closer. my Dad (A Police Officer, now a detective) was in a bad crash a few years ago and he was really close to dying, since then I think we've gotten closer, not as close as I would like but closer none the less.
As far as weightloss, I've fallen off track this week. I'm trying to get my Mom to take me to the store so I can get some good food and not have to eat the school lunch.
Anyways, not feeling real good today, so im undecided on rather or not im going to go to football practice.

Normalman is probably the most on track right now. (from what I can tell from all our posts). it seems like we're all ready to get it together though.
I will be posting a ton of info on my log. (check it out sometime), but here are the basics I have been promising.
Weight 347.1 lbs *
BF 37.1% (BOD-POD results)
Neck 19.5 inches
Arm 20.25 inches
Chest 58.75 inches (Normal)
Stomach 55.25 inches (at bellybutton)
Waist 49.5 inches (natural waist)
Hips 52.0 inches (across ass, widest part)
Thigh 29.75 inches
* I will be using 350.0 lbs for my official starting weight as of April 6, 2008 since this weight was measured 8 days later.
Diet has been ok at under 3000 calories per day, but macronutrients are a mess. Too much fat. This is a result of trying to avoid carbs. (and not eating tuna without mayo) I'll try to post detailed info in my log.
Starting photos were taken and I will post as soon as i figure out how.
It looks like the short term goal is 320 lbs by June 7. (vacation) I'm with skuZZitude, should be at least 15 lbs this month.

Small container of some sort of noodles and meat.... it's school lunch what can I say?

Man, tonight was amazing. Went to my Student-Faculty basketball game, got lots of looks from all the girls there, bought some raffle tickets, watched an azming game, and finally got to drive on my own. I felt so pimp. Then, afterwards, my friend and I decided to go to the gym. So I did weights for about a half of an hour then the elliptical for 5 minutes, then we got some Subway, came back to my house to shoot hoops, and then I took him home. It was the most fun I've had in awhile and I never once really felt self - conscious. :)
Lots of exercise in, too. Tomorrow, hopefully hitting the park to run some routes to work on my Tight End work, then maybe hit the courts for some basketball. My morale is soaring right now and I feel really good about myself for some reason. Really an indescribable feeling.
I just checked myself in the mirror, which is kind of a mistake after eating like an hour and a half ago, but wow. I really notice how I am thinning out, and how I am becoming less round. It is so great to see that my mind and my body is benefitting from all of these changes I have made. Also noticing more muscle and better speed and endurance.
Wow, here's the next great American novel, but man I need to get this outtttt.

That's great to hear man. Glad to hear you're experiencing lots of success and that everything is really going well for you. The time sure flies by when you're busy, eh? I still can't believe it's already the middle of April.

Come on, that transcendental stuff MAKES me want to kill someone. Definitely not a stress reliever. Plus, I kinda like the angry Tony.
Seriously, I can't take it, but to each his (her) own.
I have a regular meditation practice and, for me, it helps to have something other than just the house noise/kids etc. to listen to ;) If I'm listening to music for musics sake, I prefer something nice and heavy, but if I'm using something for a meditation aid, particularly with the intent of stress relief? It's gotta be something tranquil ;)

But this one is nostalgic...lol Well, time for my walk, I would have been doing it already, I work 3-11 and usually walk from 11:15p to midnite, but it is raining and it wont stop. I've got a son almost your age. He'll be 15 soon. So let me give you some advice-enjoy this time of your life. These memories will stay with you for the rest of your life. It is outstanding what you've accomplished to make these memories even better. Next year when you're an all conference WR, the girls won't be able to get enough of you.
As my little bolster of support, let me say, you seem to be wiser than most adults i know. You've taken control of your life and done an excellent job. If you continue to attack life the way youhave been, you'll go far. Congrats.

Yeah man. I wish I had taken this attitude back when I was overweight in high school. I'm sure my life would be so much different than is now. All that matters is that we're finally making steps in the right direction.
You can't undo or change the past, but you can certainly change the direction in which your future is going to go. Make the most of the time you have now, forget about the past, and worry about tomorrow when it comes. That's what I'm doing now. I'm not getting any younger and I still want to live my life while I have my youth going for me.

Me too. I was 318 going into my senior year and graduated at 357. I wish I would have had somebody to guide me and help me lose weight, I started lifting at 15, but my dad was naturally muscled and athletic, he had 16 inch arms without ever working out, I can remember lifting when I was younger and my dad come in teh garage and lift whatever I was using like it was nothing. He never ate right either.o he didnt know what to tell me. One thing that sticks out in my mind was whenver he had the yearly PT(he was in Navy) He would run his mile in about 7 minutes, sitdown and smoke a cigarrette. He wa about 5'10, 225 pounds and around 13% BF his arms were so huge tho.

Some people just have those awesome genetics. If you cut your weight down, it sounds like he definitely passed them on to you. Maybe not so much the weight part, but the naturally muscular and athletic.
As many people have probably told you, you're gonna be a beast once you get shredded up in the next year.

Luckily I am on teh first floor!! I do believe what I have was around 200 bucks. My Dad definitly passed some stuff to me!! You know whats funny about genetics, my dad had 4 brothers and 2 sisters, the girls were average, my dad I already discussed, 2 of his brothers were about 5'10 and average, and my Uncle Don was 6'5 320 pounds and around 20% BF, he was a monster.

That's quite the family you got there. 4 Uncles and 2 Aunts, haha. From what little I know about genetics, not everything is always passed onto each child. Basically when you're born, you have a chance to inherit genes for a particular trait from either your mom or dad's side I believe. I could be wrong, correct me if I am.

It sure seems like it, I got the fat genes from my Mom's side, she is heavy, her mom was heavy, her sister is heavy, well, was heavy. THere is a lot of heaviness in that side. Back to the genetics part, I think you are part right, I think that waht gets passed on are the dominate genes from each parent, I dunno. It would make sense in my case, and my sons case, he is a big boy, with little fat. He looks like some of those kids from 300, except he ahs my huge thighs, escept his are solid. He is a brute too. Strong as hell. My wife wasnt always as big as she is. But all the men on her mom and dads side are all over 6'4, so I am thinking my son will be pretty tall. He dwarfs other 3 year olds. Genetics has always fascinated me. I am off to bed. I gotta lot of chicken to cook tomorrow!!!

If anyone cares to know, I use the calculations from my low carb diet book instead of the scale to configure my body fat.
1. Multiply your weight ( in pounds ) times 703.
2. Multiply your height ( in inches ) times itself.
3. Take the numbers you got in step one and divide it from the number you got in step two.
The result is your BMI.

Keto-i was reading your profile/bodyspce and if I recall you're new to this. is that correct?.
Anyway, welcome aboard and congrats on winning the free membership.
Unfortunately, BMI is grossly inaccurate as a means to measure bodyfat. This is especiialy true for bigger people. For example-I did my calculations as you suggested.
347 lbs x 347 lbs = 243,941
74in tall x 74 in tall=5476
243,941/5476=44.5% BF
Last week I was tested by BOD-POD at 37.1% BF.
I have had this argument with every so-called expert out there. IMO BMI is the least accurate method. If you call LMI Inc (the company who manufactures BOD-POD) they will tell you who has one near you. I also understand some universities with them will test for a very small fee or no charge. (I paid $40 at a gym) Somewhere I posted their 800 number, but I'll look it up and post here.

BMI is a good start for beginners and those without a lot of muscle mass. But innaccurate for strength trainers. But I will be doing my triceps workout in about 10 minutes. I am expecting a call from my Dad sometime soon. When he calls, I will stop my workout and talk. So I dunno how much tricep work I will get done. My weight is bieng screwy or my scale is screwy, 3 days ago I was 425 according to the scale, then the next day I was 420. last nite I was 417. I highly doubt I gained that much weight before my dad had his heart attack and I got refocused. We will see what is says tuesdy nite. I am always heavier at nite anyway. I use the scale at my work for now. I plan on bieng in the 390's on May 2nd. Lets get fired up everybody, the last 2 weeks before the Group update. Lets all make a big push.

Maybe you guys can have a look at my photos section. I'm proud of her for putting up with my fat ass for all these years. When we got together (16 years ago) I was around 10% bf. Last week was pretty good dietwise except Sunday. I ate a bunch of candy at night when I shouldn't have. I also had a few other things during the week that weren't intended, but my working out was 100% last week so that didn't hold me back.
I'm back at it 100% hardcore with both exercising and diet this week. Gotta make these last 10 days in April count for something special since as a whole, this month has been pretty lousy for me compared to March.
On that note, I did nearly 50 seconds on at 14.0 MPH today on the treadmill. That stoked me up knowing I can push myself that hard. Who knows where I'll be in a few months.

(or at least around our house) Time is at a premium for most folks too, but if you ever find yourself half way between Chicago and Milwaukee, look me up. You're all more than welcome....
I am halfway between chicago and indy..seriously, exactly 100 miles from both. In my town we have a restaraunt called the 100 mile house....lol But that would be cool. Have a big BBQ and beat the hell outta allteh people who hate fat people...lol As for money bieng tight, I dont even know what money is right now:(

Well, I'm done with school in four months and if I can't figure out what to do with my life between now and then, I'm hopping in my car and taking a roadtrip across the greater United States. Been looking into doing this for a couple years now and it just might be the time to make it happen once school's over.

Do it right after graduation. Once you get a job, you wont want to take the time off, then things change fast and you get into a routine. I would love to take a month and drive all over the country. Do yu have any lines on work after schhol is over? Wahts your degree in?

I need to start looking for real employment, but as it stands right now, I have no job lined up for me after I'm done with school. I'm going to be pursuing firefighting and personal training once I graduate.
I'm actually a double major. I'll be receiving a B.A. in History and a B.S. in Exercise Science with an emphasis as a Health and Fitness Specialist. I'm an Exercise Prescription class right now and after this class is done, I'll be taking the ACSM Personal Training exam to become certified. Being certified by ACSM is about the highest degree in personal training you can currently have I believe.
As for the roadtrip, I might need to work this summer while I take the last class I need, because as it stands, I don't have enough money now to properly go on a roadtrip, lol. Damn college budgets.

Did you grow up out in Wash? My best friend from grade school is a professional lumberjack in eastern Wash. It's tough work-he spends 6-8 months per year deep in the forest at a base camp. He's actually some kind of foreman and a US dept of Forestry Certified Forest Fire Fighter. Makes pretty tall cash and has 4 months per year off. Life's in jeopardy every day though. When you see forest fires in Colorado or California or whatever, they fly him out there to do battle. He loves it but he's crazy too. It sounds weird to suggest being a lumberjack to a guy with TWO degrees, but he's probably the smartest guy I know. I can't remember if he was valedictorian, but if not he was #2 or 3.

I hate to say it has taken my Father to have a heart attack to get me going, but now that I am I aint stopping. I could be losing more, but I am eating 2500 calories a day, and more muscle burns more fat, so I am keeping what muscle I got. I will be happy with 3 pounds a week. I really dunno what I am at right now cuz I aint followed my diet well enuff till now. As far as weigh in is concerned, I will shoot a PM to everybody involved to Pm me their weight by May 4th. I will update the group on May 5th. Lets do it.

Ever happen to you? As soon as I finish my degree I'm going to take the NSCA's CSCS (certified strength and conditioning specialist) and may end up in Colorado Springs at the Olympic Training Center.

I have heard taht Glutamine works, and that is is also a waste of money and does nothing, so I have never tried it. My Dad is doing okay, he is a little tired but all in all okay. Hey man,
I originally heard about ISSA through Muscle and Fitness; yet no one I talk to has heard about the certification. I currently work in Recreation and know the fitness people really well, and none of them would recommend it. Most recommend ACE, AFTA, ACSM and NSCA.
Could just be around here though, I dunno.

Another good day.
Workout:
Football practice. This was one of the hardest practices I've had in a long time. We are currently doing conditioning (weights, running, agility.) and i pushed myself as hard as I could, mainly in the weight room.
Sets: 4 reps 8, 6, 6, 4.
Incline
Squat
Power cleans
Bench
Agility:
Box jumps. A 1 1/2 footbox-2footbox (not sure of exact height.) for 3 sets, probably about a minute of jumping on the box, getting off, and doing it again. I probably average 15 jumps (give or take.) a set.
Jump rope-
3 sets of probably 2 minutes. I didn't do very well because I got the short rope (Go figure, right?) so it kept hitting me in the back of the head and making me start over. I tried to get on track as much as possible, but could have went better.
(after jump roping, we did a lap around the track.)
Stair jumps. 3 sets of 2 minutes
(where quickly place both feet on the steps, jump down, and repeat, alot harder/tiring then it sounds....)
crunches/bicycles (varation of crunches, bring opposite elbow to opposite knee, russion twists/leg drops for a few sets, thought I was going to die.
Chased the puppy around the street cause it got out? (Haha, it counts!)
Food:
Meal 1: Egg sandwitch on Toasted what bread and light ketchup.
Meal 2: Turkey sandwitch on What bread, 100 calorie pack, banana, and two wheat rolls (Couldn't help myself, someone offered :( )
Meal 3: Weight Watchers Smart Choices Chicken Parmesan.
Meal 4: Turkey Sandwitch on wheat.
I'm starting to get motivated. Had the chance to get ice cream with my siblings (Older brother was paying.) but I refused because it would throw me off track. Mom gave me money to get some snacks at Krogers, but I bought a body building magazine instead.
Starting to feel good. hoping to see some process and weight drop, and hopefully I won't screw it up over the weekend.

He was diagnosed with Ideopathic epilepsy( which means teh doctors dunno why he has them, he has had dozens of tests with everything coming back normal) He is on medication. When he is sick, he has the tendency to get them, not just from fevers. He has been congested for a week now. So things seem to be cool for now. His Neurologist says it might go away as he gets older, he doesnt know at teh moment.

I woke up this morning and my son had a seizure and had to go to the hospital cuz he wouldnt stop twitching, on the way there he spiked a fever of 104.9. Due to lack of planning, organization, and communication, on my part and my Mothers, I ate TERRIBLE last night..... I was angry, and just kinda gave up on my self for a bit. I'm back in my mindset, and I'm going to recover. I was going to have my cheat meal (Not day, just 1 meal, with a smaller porportion.) on Saturdays, but I will not be doing so today.
Last night:
Piece of pizza at friends.
Hot Pocket
4-6 wings dipped in ranch.
I know it don't look like alot, but I feel like ****, and im glad I do, I'm angry at myself, and I want to use this disapointment in myself for motivation to lose it. I weighed myself the other day and I was down like 2-3 pounds (Hopfully not water weight :( ) and I still have the gaol of being down 5 on the 1st.
Todays plans:
Going to the gym to do MMA and work out. This should be a great workout, and I plan on being there for the majority of the day.

I hear you Fred. The scale hasn't budged for me in three weeks. My diet's been off this month, but I feel like I've been putting forth enough effort that my weight should still be dropping even with a crap week.
I wonder if I need to drop my calories a little bit since I've lost so much weight. Instead of 2600-2800, maybe I should go back to 2500.

hey dude, we've all been there. The important part is to continue moving forward and not dwelling on it. Its like that quote from Rocky Balboa, "life's not about how hard you can hit, but how hard you can GET hit and keep moving forward, how much you can take and keep moving forward. Thats how winning's done!"
The key is consistency man. You're doing awesome, keep it up.

You need to get focused, man. Diet especially =[.
Today was kind of lame. I started my new job yesterday and have had trouble eating right. I've made the right choices, but only got to eat like 3 times a day, which sucks. No work tomorrow so I'm looking to get back on track with my diet. Exercise is, as always, good, walked a fair bit today, biked a lot yesterday, tomorrow hopefully hitting the gym after school. Starting to feel excellent, with very high stamina. Mirrors are objects I have come to love.

Just a quick post saying that the past 3 days have been **** for me, my diet has sucked, my son now has pinkeye in both eyes, an ear infection, and a resporatory infection. I havent been able to do cardio either. I will jump back on track today and hopefully in teh next few days with antibiotic eye ointment combined with oral antibiotics he will be bouncing around the house again soon. I will try to get the update posted either on Sunday or Monday. I was wanting under 410 by friday, but willtake whatever losses I can muster after the last few days. Final goal weight is 185 although I have no idea if that's the weight that's actually right for me. Could be more or less.

Rumor is that they're getting ready to start filling a new class soon, so I'm gonna try to get on it. Also, I'm probably going to be doing away with most of my legs day and focusing on the weighted vest, running, and putting a major emphasis on low weight high reps, and really focusing on situps, pushups, and pullups to begin prepping in case I do get selected.

This is starting to concern me. I started at 350 lbs almost a month ago. In the past I have always lost an absolute minimum of 15 lbs the first month back on track. That would put me at 335 lbs which is in the range for the scale. My diet has been cleaner than any time in the last 5 years and I have missed only 2 days of cardio and no workouts. Here is what the hell is wrong with me right now. I am bipolar/manic depressive or what ever they call that. I DO NOT take medication and refuse to do so cuz I pretty much keep things in check with the weights and the exercise. Here in teh past couple of weeks I hit the manic part hard. It is hard to describe, kinda like an engine slowly revving up faster and faster and faster, my thoughts and feelings start racing till BAM, it stops and the depressed stage hits. Usually a stress starts me in to manic mode( my dad) I went from 425 to 417 in about 10 days, I am at 415 right now. I was starting to get cooled down when my son had his seizure, then that kinda revved things beyond control. I decided to my week break from lifting now, then I will resume a new 8 week period on Monday. Once the manic part stops, I am so extremely tired, I have slept alot teh past few days. I have no appetite( a good thing I guess) And feel like a piece of ****. I hide it well from the outside. Most people cant even tell. I figure it is better for my son if he sees me normal, not all crazy. I knew this point was coming, but I didnt know it was gonna go this fast. I am gonna keep my posts to a minimum till I get my mind right. Needless to say, I am at 415, sucks.
