Hey I have been following this forum for a while now but just recently signed up to start posting. Currently 11 weeks out from my second natty show. We all know that the food for precontest dieting can easily become bland, dry, and sometimes just taste like crap. Wanted to know if anyone has any secret tips or tricks to their food prep or certain spices or toppings, etc. Just curious as to what's out there. I know I could probably post this in the nutrition section but I thought I could get a better response from people actually going through contest prep.

For me I have recently discovered switched over to cooking all my chicken in the crock pot. Its so easy - just put it in, throw somespices (Mrs. Dash, garlic, etc.) add a little water and let it sit for a few hours. The chicken turns out very moist and stays moist over the course of the next few days. You can also use the spice water that the chicken cooked in as a nice broth.

No tricks , you get creative with the food , or atleast i do.

Cheerios , splenda , dairy beverage or ff milk is whjat i use.

Natural pnut butter , i like smart balance , add splenda roll in balls , roll in splenda , place in freezer , tastes like fudge. Careful make sure it fits your macros.

Protein shake , blender , ice , splenda , ff milk , water.

Sweet potatoe and splenda.

Egg white omelet with , 1 slice weight watchers cheese , and deli turkey.

molly mc butter
Walden farms products , check there web site.
Smart balance butter spray
Cinnamon
Garlic lots of garlic
Mustard
Salsa
hot sauce

At 7 weeks out be careful that you don't get carried away , now is the time to stay strong and smart.

Also the times of day you eat these foods can help you.

I make a BBQ sauce that's not half bad:

Vinegar
dash of Worcestshire sauce
dash of liquid smoke
Ground mustard
Ground black pepper
LIttle red pepper
3 pakcs of splenda
couple of tablespoons of low carb Catsup (Heinz makes a 1 carb that's pretty good).

Simmer on stove top. It's good on a chicken breast either as a dip or to grill.

TJ's 3 pepper salsa, Desert Peppers Mango Peach salsa, and Newmans Own Pineapple salsa + Tuna/Chicken have been saviors thus far. Microwave, add peas/broccoli, and chow.

Waldens farm chocolate dip + 1 TBS Natty PB = heaven when you crave something rich.

What kind of chicken are you putting in the crock pot? Breasts?

yeah i buy the Purdue 99% fat free breasts...throw a few packs in at a time. It really turns out great - none of that dry chicken caused from slightly over cooking it in the oven.

yea buddy. i used to crock pot. have not bought another since leaving the homestead post via divorce. she got it all except my flat screen. go to jail for that. you gotta take one stand. LMAO

i am going back to the crock pot asap after my show. but i will add a sweet ass bbq sauce - off season style. i been cooking in a lil light olive oil, ms dash, blk pepper in a hot skillet ala Jay Cutler. just not all the onions. LOL!

thanks again...
