a friend asked what my blood type was the other day, and i had a feeling that he'd come across the book that devises optimal diet by blood-type, and he had. well, i'm "O-pos", and sure enough;

http://lammd.com/blood_type_diet/index.cfm (keto ftw!)

he was sorta hoping it would say i should be a strict vegetarian, yadda, yadda, but no. same with him - the diet he feels best on, vegetarian, WAS the best diet for his blood type, "A".

so....what's ur blood type beej, markiv, gfun, eileen, robbie, buhlayz, bendall, miss thing, fitnessman, doobie and ALL the others who've had great success or failure with the keto diet? just want to see if there's any connection. if u don't mind sharing, it could be interesting.

either way, i thought that this chart might help someone predict if keto would work for them, cuz it really isn't for everyone, and it's hard to watch so many people flame-out or become depressed cuz they thought they would achieve miracles with keto. (and some can!).

thanks ketoers, and keep up the good work, and the great posts.

I'm AB negative. I am one of those folks that are on call with the hospitals here just in case. I give roughly every 4 weeks, a little sooner than you should, but they assure me it's safe, and I'm a rare type. It feels good to be able to help people who need it. SO GIVE BLOOD! LOL I have lots of T-Shirts from the blood center that I wear to the gym. They also give you a half sandwich with peanut butter and sugary jelly afterwards! YUM!

I don't know my blood type -- is that bad? I actually just called my mom and she has no idea either....though I told her all about the blood type diet a couple years ago and she figured out that she should be eating EXACTLY what she does....intuitive.

I'll figure it out and report back

btw giving blood expends 600+calories per litre.....good enough reason to have a cheat meal :) ahahah

well, i thought that this would be a good way to prod everyone to find out their type - by donating blood preferably. when in doubt though, ask your mom.

mark - u def need to find out.

yeah, if i hadn't donated blood a couple weeks ago i would have no idea what blood type i am. :) it takes like 15 minutes to do it yet hardly anyone does it.

I know I know! I just got a lecture about it from my mom :) But being able to say "my steaks done gotta go!" and hanging up got me out of it....lover her to death but I mean....come on -- talk to me or the cat...not both at the same time ahahaha.

Anyways - - I have donated before and they told me but at the time I didn't really care.
