Jerks(more like a push press, with a little knee re bend)175x3,175x3,135x10...the first 2 sets were alot harder than they should have been. The last set was more for form
seated 3"bar overhead press-115x7,115x7,115x7-not to failure. It was a !@*(& trying to clean the bar
slow side laterals-15sx3setsx15reps
Ended with some bicep work.I dont know why,but I was extremely tired all day(tuesday),so obviously my workout wasnt the best.
Today(wednesday)I had some time to waste so I did some crushing grip work.I really want to close the #3 captain of crush before I turn 20,so I figured I better throw in more crushing work now, instead of all support work, like before.I figured out a way to use a cable machine,so that its kind of like a grip machine.Did 5 sets of 7 reps with the stack, plus 2 of the add one weights.

Well..today's workout SUCKED!!Im really hoping that Ill be able to switch gyms soon.Started with front squats, and as I did them, had a bunch of the typical high school kids(assisted benc and curls)watching me...and of course their was one that thought he knew everything about lifting, and talked about how front squats will tear up your shoulders, and hurt your knees.
full front squats-no belt
135x5,155x5,185x5..p.s all of my sets were way below a max level.Everything was screwed up
speed squats-225x7x3.Didnt plan on doing these, but like I said..it sucked
messed around with a few other leg excercises and said screw it.Finished with sit ups,and left.OK..tomorrow should go better..they all have other things to do on friday nights :P

Im thinking sumo gm's will help with the stones ... I did them with my feet as wide as the rack tonight which seemed pretty tough....I couldnt believe how much harder it was than conventional for me...I figured it would be alot easier.Im still doing some conventional things though, for the 18" dead in the Illinois contest.

Ok...starting today I have 3 weeks to train until my last teen contest. If I do not give 100% every workout up until then, and really get my eating habits in line,I will not be happy with myself.Today I trained hard, but because of saturdays intense training session, and feeling as if I might have a pec/shoulder/trap injury, I didnt want to over do it and over train at this point.

Keg toss-7 sets at around 11'.I was trying to hit the tip of a tree branch which was a little over 11',then the branch broke lol
Stones-I did sets of lapping it,then serts of standing up with it.Lap-220x3(forget if I did 3 or 5 sets),x5reps.Lap once then stand-220x2x6 I was having trouble standing with the stone. It wasnt that it felt heavy...I just couldnt get it in the right position and it felt like it was slipping on my shirt alot(note for the day..it hurts when your gut gets pinched between an atlas stone and your belt!)
Ended with 2 long walks around my yard with the empty farmers implements(45lbs each),for some endurance work.

It was a great contest.I dont know the full results yet,but Ill post them when I find out.I won the teen heavyweight division
Started with John Beatty's 3" db lift contest, for fun....did 110(??)pretty easily, then they went up 10-20lbs,and it felt glued to the floor lol (btw....if anyone is looking for nice thick handle dumbells, rolling thunder type devices, weight for height implements, among a few other things....Id go with John Beatty's "fat bastard barbell company".....top notch equipment.)
1.log clean and press(2nd place)-190lbs..tied the record, and had 210 in me,but didnt have any more attempts left.Another guy did an easy 210 for the new record
2.18" deadlift(tied for 1st)-no suit,no wraps,no straps.Just a rehband belt, and a lever belt.Went to 520 for my final attempt......again ,I definitely wish I had went higher!!!!For some reason the bar was slanting for alot of us,so I almost missed the lift because I literally was holding it by the tips of my left fingers, but managed to squeeze my hand shut on the way up.Only one other teen heavy did 520,and one lightweight did it,which was very impressive
3.Keg toss(1st place)....I was pretty worried about this event, because I had been practicing it,just by throwing my keg in the air as high as possible,so I wasnt getting any practice actually throwing it over something.I opened with 11',went to 12(I think),and ended with what everyone said was an easy 14' Shawn Smith and Brian Schoonveld messed around with the keg after we were done......easily well over 20'...I would guess anywhere from 25-30' with no warm ups.
4.Deadlift hold(1st place)-220lbs in each hand for a little over a minute 5 seconds(not sure of the exact time). These handles were really slick compared to what Im used to using, but I was happy with my time. All I remember hearing was Schoonie and Shawn Smith yelling"youve allready beaten everyone...RUN WITH THEM!!!!"lol...that didnt happen
5.Stones(1st place)I dont know the weights of all the stones, but the last one was 300.I loaded 4,and had the 300 right on the edge of the platform, but it slipped off....tryed again, and felt like I was going to fall backwards once I started to get it up so I stopped there.
Tony Soucie put on an awesome contest, and everyone gave all out efforts on every event.Quite a few NASS records were broken,or on the edge of being broke.....everyone was very impressive

Thanks man...finally got some time to post what Ive got done lately :D
Last thursday(??)
axle clean(1),and push press-145x5x5x5,165x3x3
axle clean-145x5x5x5
low close feet squat press-8platesx5,8platesx5(had to stop because of knee pain)
chins-bwx7x7x7

saturday
cleans, snatch, snatch pulls....just sets with 135.Forgot how many sets I did
Monday
log style db jerk-60sx3,70sx3,80sx3
db(2) french press-25sx8,30sx8
axle curls-75x8,75x8
snatch-135x2,135x2
farmers holds-205'sx30sec,205sx30sec(for conditioning...kept my knees bent, and bounced to stress my legs and traps like when actually walking)
manta ray,olympic style half squat-135x8,185x6,225x6
some ab work
speed yoke-3 sets with the empty yoke, then 3 sets with 100 added pounds..no idea on the distance(60-80').After I sat the yoke down,I would run HARD for about 200'
While doing snatches ,some little punk that thinks he deserves special treatment from everyone, because he gets alot of recognition for playing basketball, thought it would be ok to stand directly behind me,and right beside the bar, while I did snatches....Im just learning how to do these,so I could have easily dropped the bar form overhead, and hit him.I ended up running at him with the bar overhead, and threw the bar onto the incline bench.Just needed to vent lol
Im planning on doing the Music City Contest now(last minute decision)...Ill only have this week to train,so Im hitting everything hard.
you'll kick ass at the contest bro
whats the events, weights and competition look like??

Wow, thats one impressive log clean and press, and stone too. How's it feel with 600lbs on your back? :D
It looks fun. For the farmers, do you mean that both objects being carried were 210lbs?
Good job.
bump awesome trainin
unlimited->yep, 210 per hand..thats the weight for his division at the contest
( I looked at it, and decided it wasnt worth the drive on short notice :) )

How does 600 lbs feel on my back?...It hurts!!!!lol Actually the pain goes away after a few training sessions with the yoke.Ive tryed 700,2 times so far,and can tell you that it hurt worse than any other lift that Ive ever done. You can do partial squats in the rack, with maybe 6-8" range of motion,to sort of get an idea of what the initial lift feels like.
Im hoping to get in the heavier of the light weight classes now,but we'll see.I might have to hit a buffet buffet, and eat a ton before weigh ins :D
Here is yesterday's long workout(note:Im only doing so much, because this week is my final training week before the contest, and it has been my only week of training the events for this contest)

close feet deep Goodmornings-135x8,225x3-5???

A rough run down of the contest
Friday.
weighed in at 223...was 221 the day of
rolling thunder-180...just for fun
Saturday.
225 open lights
Log clean and press-210lbs-Cleaned it a bunch...couldnt press it.I had perfect jerk form in warm ups with the 120lb log,and it felt very easy...just couldnt get the 210.
Yoke-600lbs-80'...I didnt sit it down once, and I think my time was 19.something seconds.Looked fast
Tire flip-670(??)tire...I only made it about 50' MAYBE.The tire flip, and log were perfect examples of why you have to train these events. The tire really tore me up.
Farmers Walk-210(was told they were 215)eachx160' with 1 turn at 80'.Not sure of my time but it looked fast
Atlas Stones..I was getting pretty depressed after my poor placings on the log and tire..The farmers walk boosted my motivation some, but the stones just felt great. There were 5 stones-225-310...AND THEY ALL WENT UP!!!!!!! :D My adrenaline was through the roof after that
I ended up placing 3rd which I was very happy with, because the guys in the 225's were great, and I was the youngest,so I figured my chances were slim.I actually tied points wise with another really good competitor, but took the third placing because I won more of the events.
