Oh yeah and nice fkin mile time! Howd it feel? I bet you were fkin out of breath when you were done! By the way, im guessing youd be able to answer this. Do you ever try to sprint at any time in the mile, like the last 1/8 lap? I do, and i feel so much fking slower on the sprint than a fresh start sprint, even if its only a 1/4 mile im running.....
Weird ****
Thanks!
Yeah, If I have any gas in me at the last 1/4 lap, I use it to sprint as fast as I can.
What do you mean weird ****?

Anytime.
Well, when i tried sprinting today after even just jogging 1/4 mile...it was very slow. I was trying to go instantly from jog to sprint at the end of the 1/4 mile. It was in PE though we're starting to run the track again. So yeah basically i just feel very slow trying to sprint right at the end of a jog....or somethin like that

This workout was brutal. The mile run took too much out of me because I decided to push myself harder and get a kickass time, but I only shaved off 3 lousy seconds. Had to take a 5 min break before the broomstick squats because I was too worn out. Backwards running compounded the problem. I am going to be in such kickass shape by the time my wrist heals. If nothing else, I'll be able to run for a helluva long time.
awesome mile time bro.

It sucks ass. It limits me in ways that I never thought was possible, but I don't care, Im going to do all I'm able to no matter what. My mile time keeps getting better and better each week,so at least somthing is going well. Probably gonna be another 10 weeks before I get my cast off.

Whew, this workout was killer. I ran 2 miles instead of one. Got under 12 minutes, so it was pretty decent.

2 Mile Run: 11:38 - PR!! who hoo!
Broomstick Squats: 170 straight reps
Backwards run: 10 minutes.
Crushed my old 2 mile run PR today. Makes me feel good, but pisses me off at the same time because my running is going great, and I really don't care about running at all, but my lifting was going ****ty before my wrist broken, and I really care about lifting. I highly doubt that I will hit a sub 5 minute mile time before I heal. I would be surprised If I hit a 5:20 mile time.

05-09-2004, 04:46 PM
Damn dude you're fkin fit
I'd love to be able to run around at that pace easily for 2 miles. You averaged a 5:49 mile for 2 miles! That is crazy
I want to do a 1 mile run again....but i dont know. Maybe once in a while this summer..

Steel - Thanks. It def wasn't easy though. I had to bust my ass to get that time. lol I wasnt joking when I said I was going to do ALL that I could while injured. The injury just pissed me off more and made me run harder.
John - Im not good enough for cross country, plus, I want to lift, not run.

Great session today! Blew away my old mile time by almost 10 seconds. Cut the backwards run down to 5 minutes, because I couldnt take any much more punishment after the 1 mile run. I weighes myself today and I only weigh 158 lbs!! Damn I lost weight! I do look much leaner than before, though.

5/20/04 - Sprints/Conditioning
40 yd dashes (timed myself)
1st run: 4.83
2nd run: 4.70
3rd run: 4.52 - This can't be right
4th run: 4.71
5th run: 4.66
6th run: 4.98 - This can't be right either
7th run: 5.12 - wtf?
8th run: 4.69
1 Mile run: 5:43
Broomstick squats: 100 straight reps, then 2 sets of 60
Backwards sprints: 3 bursts of 25 seconds
Threw some sprints in with the distance work today. I timed myself on the 40, which is why the times are inconsistant. Didn't set a PR on the 1 mile run this time, though. Probably because I did sprints.

I did it on my schools track. Im not sure which number I should be going by out of all of those results. I know that the 4.52 and the 5.12 were flukes.
AJ010
05-21-2004, 03:20 PM
Damn man nice times on both sprint and mile!
You do realize you're probably faster than those times because when you time yourself its more inaccurate and your start messes up right?
And juliuz, electronic times are actually slower, because its more accurate than hand timing which most people end up timing faster

5/28/04 - Conditioning/Sprints
40 yd dashes: 6 runs
1 Mile run: 5: 36 - PR!!
Broomstick Squats: 3 sets of 80
Backwards Sprints: 3 bursts of 25 seconds
Best workout Ive had since I've started the conditioning/sprint workouts. I didn't bother to time myself on the 40's though because last time the times were inconsistant and innaccurate. But I set a PR on the 1 mile run after six 40 yd dashes! Thats what got me the most excited. I wonder what my mile time would have been If I just skipped the sprints and went straight to the 1 mile run? I love backwards sprints, too. Its kind of tough to sprint backwards, but they are supposed to make you more coordinated.
I also forgot to tell you guys that I have a mild case of Asthma. :)

but if you do light work to put some stress load on the bone, it will heal faster and stronger
same concept as walking cassts for leg breaks

Theres not much work that I could do, because my cast is so restricting. The cast goes up my hand all the way up a little bit past my knuckles, so its really difficult to try to grab a barbell or dumbell, or anything actually. The only thing that I could think of would be doing some finger curls or somthing for grip. But im not so sure that that would help or not, because it would be pulling on my wrist, and Its probably better (and safer) if I put pushing pressure instead of pulling, anyway.

Bench Press
45 x 10
135 x 3
155 x 3
185 x 1
195 x 1
205 x 1
210 x 1 - 10 lb PR!! Hell yes! I finally passed 200!!
215 x 0 - Got it halfway up
I havent been sitting on my ass when I was away. My wrist recovered more quickly than I expected, and I did another short russian bench routine, and started benching with my lats, and my max went up 10 lbs!!! You have no idea how happy I am now. I have been stuck and frustrated at not being able to bench more than 200 for 6 months, buttoday I broke that trend!!! 210 went up pretty well, and I might have been able to get 215 If I focused really hard on it. 225 here I come!!!!!
