Happy 2007!
Had a great Work Out to start the new year.
Flat BP: Three sets 405 @ 4 reps with slight pause at bottom. One set 315 x's 15. These were fast reps.
Decline fly: 3 sets with 100lb db's 10 reps, 8 reps.......4 reps
Pec dec: 4 sets
Swiss Ball skulls 4 sets
One arm Cable ext 3 sets.
Strength is coming along well with the BW increase.

Do you have your upper arms parallel with the ground when doing the pec deck? I set my seat a little higher because it tends to irritate my shoulder when my upper arms are parallel. The higher seat placement lowers my upper arms (the distal ends) and makes the exercise pain-free.
Nice workout and have to switch my subscriptions.
On the weighted hangs, are you going for strength or hypertrophy?

The gym has this really crappy Cybex Pec Dec. I really only use it from time to time when I have really spent the pecs. It serves a purpose for a pump out and that's with the stack. So I never really even notice the arm placement..I would say parallel though.
On the hangs: Both! Manys folks pull up issues would go away if they started doing these.
Thanks Pete...Notice how I still have to throw that sissy Swiss Ball in there though :D

405 for 4, FFS, I'll never catch up now. I did do 120's on flat, 105 on decline and 95's on the incline. I'm still looking for the bastard that keeps coming in my house after chest day and beating me. When they're caught, STRAIGHT TO THE RUSSIAN FRONT!! The youngin's won't get that one fitty, lol!! :D I think this volume and higher reps is agreeing with me, thanks again bro.

WICKED job on the presses though, nice job! :)

Rob, glad you are liking the volume.
keth, the pec dec I just use as a finisher now and then. Most often after killing pecs with heavy weight.
The Swiss Ball Skulls are just flat out awesome for killing the long head.
Did legs todays. Rack pulls and BB lunges 10 sets each. Threw in some calves.

Great workout tonight. Back, biceps and legs. Started with back and did three working sets of DB rows, 150 x 18, 11, and 7. Breathing like a locomotive going uphill after those. Followed with some lat pulldown holding the contraction at the bottom, 270x8 and 230x12.
Moved on to biceps and straight curls, finished with a drop set from 135x7 to 95x5. Couple of sets of hammer curls and on to legs. Hacks 480x4 and 360x13. Finished with a couple drop sets on seated ham curls. I was soaked, tired and had to stop at the middle landing on my way up the stairs. Great way to start the year.

Awesome WO there Nuclear.
Didn't WO yesterday due to work related issues, so had to get a whole bunch of stuff in today.
Back, Biceps, Traps, Shoulders.
I did: Pulldowns, WG pull ups, Seated DB presses (did 21 reps with the 100lb db's) Standing heavy EZ curls (almost most at 225) and threw in some spiders..Pause at top shurgs.
Very effective WO :)

How deep you go on the seated db shoulder presses? Full ROM or just until the upper arms are parallel? Impressive reps either way!

My brother is a big Walleye fisherman. My family grew up on Lake Poygan (Wisconsin). Sometime during the spring is when he catches the most. Usually, off of one of the reed beds. Unfortunately, the reed beds seem to be decreasing on the lake. I used to do some Walleye fishing with my dad and brother in high school. I remember when my brother caught his biggest Walleye. He has it mounted on the wall in his home. Good luck fishin'!

Good workout today. Went back to the DC style for legs and hit them mighty hard. First major exercise was hacks. Work set was with 490, needed to get some reps versus a single or 2 wth 500. Still heavier than when I left off damn near 2 months ago. Calf work really sucked because I haven't done enough work for them lately. Finished with some good leg curls. Thinking I'll be hurting the next few days.

Yeah, kicked some butt last night in the gym and will hit it again later today. Tried a couple of the new machines and will be adding some into the regular routine.
Fitty - Cutler is in Akron tomorrow at a Max Muscle store opening. My schedule is tight tomorrow, doubt I'll be there, but just letting you know. I know Petey would go if he was around.

Good workout today. Back and biceps. Hit the T-bar for the first time in months. Felt good after some time away from it. Also did some good mornings for the first time in ages. They always feel good but you never see anyone doing them anymore.

+ you get some strange stares in the gym (in regards to good mornings). You can almost hear them whispering "He is going to hurt his back doing that". In the meantime, they put on their weight belt, weight gloves, straps, etc. and get ready to do "hang" curls in the other power rack.

Nice thread there Forge, I'll post a few things on that soon.
Had a decent leg day this afternooon. Figured I forgo the first half of the SD-NE game and just watch the last quarter. Worked seat ham, standing calf and squats. All the sets were good one. Tried a 20 repper on squats and damn near died at 13. Hadn't done those in a while and had to regroup. Threw in a stop/pause set to finish things off and make my trip up the stairs and adventure. Chest tomorrow.

Mighty crowded in the gym today. Think we got the full blast of resolutionaires in this afternoon.
So today was chest/delt day and I used the "new' equipment. Started with an incline press machine that has variable weight positions for different resistance through the ROM. I like the way it felt and will use the machine again. Went on to the new pec dec and didn't care for it. Finished with a new seated press machine. I'll probably use it again but only sparingly.
Moved on to delts and did some cable laterals that I haven't done in a few months. I'll keep these in the rotation for a while. Finaished with triceps and did the seated, close grip, behind the head presses, something like the Titania movement, (I think). Hit the tris pretty effectively IMO. I'll keep this in the rotation as well. Bit of ab work and I was on my way home.

Flat BP, Decline flies, cable crossover, seated incline BB Tricep presses, 1 arm DB exts. All kept in the 10-12 rep range.

Back to biz here. Chest and Triceps:
Did some slow work with 405 on the flat.
Last set 315 x's 15 (speed work). I think I did 8 total work sets
Flat Flies 4 sets
Swiss Ball Skulls 6 sets
Widow maker flat BP 225 X's 23
Two sets of reverse grip BP in the Smith (decline)
I was toast.
Thinking about starting some cardio this week or next.
Good way to fry your chest fitty. What are your reps up to for the 405 btw?

I once got trapped under the bar at home alone going for a PB on the bench
Rolled it off but for a moment I was worried. Mind you that was many years ago. Nowadays I recognize the importance of having a good spotter and using a power rack when I am loading up the bar.

Anything that skinny lil bastard says should be taken as the gospel! :D He's helped me go from struggling with one rep at 405 to pushing up into the mid 400's on my bench. With the size of his wheels, it seems he knows about squatting as well!
Forge, M said she only put about 100 lbs of lift on that last rep so I think 3 reps is not far off. My motto is nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I would imagine db shoulder pressing or machine shoulder pressing is easier because the neck can stay in a neutral position more easily. The seated shoulder press would have some extension and the behind-the-neck press would have some flexion of the neck occuring.

With the issues in the background, I'll keep things positive today. Had a great workout today.
Worked legs and it was short, sweet and complete. Started with seated ham curls doing the whole rack. Followed with standing calf raises and felt good bringing them back up after slacking off for a bit on the other program. Finished up in the squat rack. Went with a work set at 450, some walkouts with 540 and paused set with 300. Some stretches afterward and I was toast.
Relaxed night planned watching Heroes and thinking bout Bella.
